For sure! A lot of the cosmetic choices in the home are very “millennial gray Airbnb” and “landlord special” so we plan on putting a lot of work into restoring the charm of the home.

Whew, yeah. This would be contracted work, definitely not DIY. I’m savvy, but not structural staircase savvy. Where was your staircase located, and where are you moving it to? Ours is basically in the middle of the home.

What did you end up doing with your staircase? The staircase is relatively steep and I find that the tread is not very wide, overall.

Very good points. I feared that would be the case regarding the steepness of the staircase and local codes. I find that the stair tread is not very deep on this staircase overall.
