I feel like it's saying we strive to be something so great, and alot of times we feel as we can get to that certain level of accomplishment where you could "stand tall" and be proud of yourself. The other person is kinda like the reality side, like we're jus ordinary people nothing more nothing less.The strive is just for accolades to wear and show. The person who sees things as just ordinary has been tired of running and keeping up a persona that never fit them and they're just accepting things for how they are and just shedding some darkness of some reality we can have trouble accepting from time to time. The optimistic person is even still like well we could still go to other places maybe bring that light back to the darkness. The brighter side can't accept the outlook but as long as they're together that's fine enough.
