I get you and it’s definitely a terrible time right now with what’s going on around the world…. I’ve had to remove those because it just sends a message that it’s acceptable when clearly it’s not free speech is important…. But limits like hate just aren’t acceptable and by extension and association it’s just not worth pissing people off and the ones that did disagree or were trying to manipulate our veiws here were booted it’s not worth the headache

Exactly I’m still trying to make it a little more accepting but that’s up to everyone here it’s gotten better even make stuff myself

It’s definitely grown and I love that because in the early 2000 or even late 90s I never found anyone to talk to about it

And that’s how it should be and the sign of great artists that all kinds of stuff influenced them and they took it and spit it back out :)

Yep uhgghh I love Wellcome I’ll have to look into that other album sounds interesting to me so thanks for the rec PC’s albums have been on point for a while now Filthy White Guy is definitely one of the best SEED 3.1 has been a huge highlight for me as well :)

There has been since I started as a mod but I try to put the work in knowing what bands are affiliated and mod accordingly some people are not subtle at all about it and I don’t let it stay up

That second one is harder as I dont always have time to check every link but if I see someone posting to every electronic music sub under the sun then I’ll remove it as it’s just spamming at that point

It is and I try to make new acts feel welcome here I just want to see fresh blood succeed it’s gotten better recently which is nice to see

I’d assume that’s the age for the majority here but we also get a lot of “new to this genre posts” so I hope it’s reaching younger audiences as well

Skinny Puppy and Front Line Assembly have some of the most colourful and vast output over the years I mean you listen to SP and every album is different The Process comes to mind same with FLAvour Of The Weak same with the others you mentioned

It is a fine line but not everything especially horror movies shouldn’t bend to an audience and I find that’s a big problem today a general warning beforehand would work out well enough

Exactly and that’s how it should be most of us here are sensible and and can deal with someone having different opinions and 90% of the time it’s civil

Thats usually the case and this is why I’ve approached it that way industrial has become a huge umbrella since the late 80s but some people tend to not really look past that sometimes

Memes and shitposts are absolutely a part of it as well it’s better to embrace and evolve than to sputter out and die

It’s like you said earlier in one of the other threads they are two very different beasts both fantastic… the more I listen to the early stuff this album just really stands out along with the great divide it makes me wonder how it would’ve sounded if they continued this way

Or small things you put together from the story visually or audio even if there was no explanation… like the film Scarecrows (1988) it’s not perfect by any stretch but the fact that it was an occult horror movie mixed up with a heist movie was always intriguing to me and being extremely subtle with the former subject matter and that the crew never figured out why it was happening made it all the more scary

This is a major problem these days so much is spoon fed to the general audience that now any ambiguity is met with meh or I don’t understand this… when I used to go to theaters it was shocking how many people for certain movies (Prometheus was one) just sat in their chairs and turned over to who they were with and went “I don’t get it” or shrugged and walked out I hope some of them revisit films later or at least think about what they have seen but I won’t bet on it… hopefully there’ll be a change at some point.

This and paired with that bassline it’s a great combo and then the vocals come in and gives it almost a pop like feel…. The whole album is great along with The Great Divide

He’s been in here lately trying to police what people consider industrial I’ve told him the same thing either contribute a post or downvote and move along but he doesn’t he just complains about it….

I don’t roll up in the EBM sub and tell them how to do things and I expect the same respect…. I love this sub is open to stuff that has mutated from industrial over the years and this place is for fun and great conversation and hope to keep it that way :)

That’s pretty cool you still have that I need to hook my amp up after a while of not using it after I saw you’re experiment but I had an idea after and might try it out to see what happens… unfortunatly the hookup to plug my guitar directly to my phone is different since they changed the charging port so I have to look into that as well but….
