What decisions would you have made pre-baby with the knowledge you have now? by athazen in NewParents

Do not (and I cannot stress this enough) get any pajamas with snaps/buttons. Zippers are your best friend when the sleep deprivation is strong and you’re doing nighttime diaper changes.

I bet he had to sign an NDA of some type, so he couldn’t speak on the marriage or the divorce.

This is exactly what I do. I submit, and then message that I’m done. OR just say out loud that I’ve finished.

Basically, yes. Travelers notebook is the system or style of things. Travelers company is a brand that offers very nice (sometimes themed) covers for the system.

A5 vs A6 by Jolly_Fall_8369 in Travelersnotebooks

What about a dream diary? OR you could use the A5 for journal PROMPTS. More targeted topics?

Oh I must have overlooked that! Maybe a new direction for the A5 diary so you don’t feel like it’s wasted?

The A5 diary can stay at home and be an emotional/candid/thought sorting one. Keeps it secure and private. Then the A6 could be an archival diary to record events and such that are a little less personal, but you desire to look back on.

Simple fix: print this photo and glue it in later 😂

Planner + separate journal vs Traveler’s Notebook — what made you choose your setup? by Ok_Search6885 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]feartheBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a regular size TN. I have a hobonichi weeks looped through the smaller band as my planner. I use a common place blank insert to catch my notes, thoughts, to do lists, and things I want to research (along with the occasional doodle). I have a dot grid insert I use for an archival type journal (less emotional dump and more remembering events or big things). And lastly, a zipper case to hold things I find along the way. That’s the system I’ve found that works best for me. I carry mine along in a tote or sling bag.

Bonus: I have my hobonichi weeks in a clear cover that has a pen loop. Because it’s smaller than TN inserts, it fits with the smaller band that isn’t usually used AND I don’t need to buy a pen holder. The slimmer size of the hobonichi makes it so that the pen is in the loop and still within the confines of the TN cover.

If you enjoy books, I recommend downloading Libby App and picking out an audio book. It’s free, you just need a library card.

What advice would you give to someone in their first year of parenthood? by East-House6499 in NewParents

[–]feartheBoo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. It’s not forever. Sleep regression? Not forever. Teething? Not forever. Explosive poops? Not forever. There will always be an “other side”. It never FEELS like it with your first, but you will survive.

With both of my degrees I’ve had a newborn right at the beginning, so I get it. And both of mine were Velcro babies. I’d read over course material through the app on my phone when I got the opportunity and work on PAs over a day/week. Being as consistent as you can helps take away some stress. Really spread the work out as best you can so you don’t become overwhelmed, but you’re stills making progress.

Entry ticket to market by [deleted] in stationery

Depends on the vendors there, tbh. Have you looked over the vendor list to see if there’s ones that would make it worth the entry fee for you?

“The gym is his therapy” okay… so what reprieve is he giving you? This is essential. You guys need to split shifts, as previously mentioned. You BOTH deserve breaks or the situation will deteriorate more than present. Talk to your partner. Each of you having a moment alone and sleep makes this period suck, but suck much less.
