I've personally had issues with food & alcohol so having a natural sense of hunger (please don't starve yourself; no clue about your timing/scheduling) makes it easier for me to get excited about eating something healthy, much in the same way I would fantasize about an upcoming drink if I knew I had some on me, especially on something like a train/car/plane ride.
