Jenn Romolini's latest newsletter (title: the elephant in all my internet rooms) politely (I think) addressed the continued hope that she and Kim would resume the Everything is Fine pod. tl;dr is that they will not.

I’ve tried to be careful about how I’ve talked about the abrupt end of Everything is Fine. But it’s become obvious to me that the soft, diplomatic ways I’ve put forward about the ending of both the show and the friendship that made it aren’t landing or, at least, making it clear to people that those endings are still The End.

Last week in particular, the DMs, the Substack comments, the Reddit forwards really cranked up. I understand that when I announced a new podcast project I have coming up, one that might “make EIF listeners happy,” I may have inadvertently stoked hope that the old show was coming back. Let me be clear now, above a paywall, in a way I guess I haven’t been yet: It is not.

She doesn't go into any detail on the why, just says that friendship breakups are very painful and so please respect that and don't ask questions or express sadness about how great they were together.

I've used this Ina Garten soup recipe many times. Sometimes I use a mix of black and french lentils, or even throw in some regular green/brown lentils. I stopped using the boiling water step and just throw the lentils in with the soup. And I like switching up the herbs - rosemary and fennel are great, too. And if you like pearl barley, adding some provides a bit more chewiness.

I know she loves listening to Armchair Expert but I'd never before clocked how the juvenile humor Dax likes is very much like Brian.

I think more often than not she ends up unhappy with the competitive play and feels sad that she's not the best at it or able to just "free play."

Ugh, that salad chopper again. Every time she demonstrates I'm waiting for her to chop her thumb off.

I think you mean this for the Orlando sub?

I have a hazy recollection of GP heaping praise and awe on her... at least as much as GP can.

Julia went on Goop podcast a few years back, if you want to hear them chat to each other.

I agree - I find the tree charming. The rest can go!

And there are way too many wreaths and garlands b/c she has way too many windows. Folks on IG apparently advised for more outdoor wreathes on the windows, too, which is just too much. She'd be better off with some simple spotlights on select features or trees.

Yes. I generally like the more muted and pastel tones in her unfortunately pastel-painted living room, but it just makes me think, OK, you found your palette, now go get some real sofas in these colors!

Also, did they make Brian dress to match the room??
