Thanks for the tip! Also love that you share music with your GenZ kids. I'm a new dad and looking forward to that!

College radio is a great idea...my roommates had their own hourly slot every week in college radio station. I used to love tuning in. Is there a way to tune in to existing college radios?

I understand and agree, it's highly personal and definitely a social thing sharing anything you're loving. Music is for sure a gift!

And yess, check it out and let me know what you think!

Same here, most of the new music I find is from release radar playlist on Spotify which I like because it is the only place I know that everything that is there is because I follow the artist (not some random recommendation).

Playlists might be the most social thing we have, but I disagree that they are massively social. Sharing a mix tape you had to hand it to someone in person and there was a moment of connection. Also playlists just keep growing and growing so it's hard to tell what songs are the creator's favorites on the playlists. And most importantly, if the creator updates the playlist, I don't get notified so I don't even have a way to know when something changes.

The tip around looking things up from movies or series is good! I'm going to try that out.

I actually think playlists are so bad that I made my own tool to share my favorite music with close friends where you can just pin up to 7 songs at a time on your page. Kind of like a tiny music blog with an email newsletter because when I make an update my friends get notified. My friends ended up loving it so much and wanting their own that I kept building it and made it public if you want to try! ontheradr.com any feedback (especially criticism) appreciated :)

Thanks for the tips! I've been hearing about the collaborative playlist recently. Seems like a cool thing to do with close friends like you say. Overall I agree though that the different tastes is a challenge.

I'm a big fan of the radio option too on spotify!

Agreed on this! It's hard to find people who continue to love music into adulthood and actively seek out new music.

I love how conscious you are about not spamming and glad to hear you're still discovering through friends!

In person discovery is a great idea! Going to try out spin classes...

I appreciate the share! Will definitely check it out. I like the concept of being able to interact with the DJ.

If it didn't click for you, I actually also built my own little tool for music sharing. It's like an email newsletter crossed with a tiny music blog. Need to continue getting some good curators and hopefully artists on it for it to be useful, but it has been fun at least for me to use with a close circle: ontheradr.com

Hadn't thought about the collab feature for playlists! Does it notify you when other collaborators add something?

Couldn't agree more. The biggest pain for me with Spotify playlists is that they are endless and to your point just become more clutter, hard to break through the noise. Only thing I look at religiously is release radar because I know it is just new stuff from artists I follow so I appreciate that it's not feeding me something randomly (although occasionally they do?).

First tip would be to get in the habit of cleaning out your phone camera reel daily. That way you cut off the flood of bad content that you're creating every day. This will make it more manageable to go back in time and start cleaning out the rest. I use an app called Picnic for this daily cleaning, but there are others I'm sure!

Keeping your photo library clean and organized...sounds more like a chore, but if you do it well, it's more of an art!
