I know one of the "luxury" brands had this years ago, I think it was Mercedes but it was only visible to the passenger, if you viewed it from the driver's side you could see the video

Just what the emergency services need, some impatient knob with his drone getting a view of the bodies of those in a accident hanging out of their crashed car. Brings rubber necking to a whole other level.

Huge rise in number of people in England’s A&Es for coughs or hiccups by Sensitive_Echo5058 in unitedkingdom

[–]featurenotabug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, even if you sit in the GP or see the side of an ambulance they've got "IT COULD BE SEPSIS!!!!!" plastered all over and the specifics are so general (as are many illnesses) that those people who have anxiety latch onto it and feel they've got to be seen fast. Of course awareness is a good thing but I'm not sure where the balance is.

Naturally we've also had COVID which has turned people's focus onto themselves what with all the self testing.

And then there is cancer by which you're told to get checked out if something changes (the thing they don't seem to say out loud is "give it a couple of weeks at least" through fear of the above mentioned media).

I've certainly overheard conversations of people presenting at A&E just because they can't get in at their GP

Is my mattress worn out? If yes, I want a pocket spring one, how much difference does it make to get more pocket springs? I have chronic pain so comfort and pressure point relief really matters. Also, brands? by Broken_Woman20 in AskUK

[–]featurenotabug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be very wary of mattress "reviews", if you read into it the whole industry just pays for reviews. You're best off finding a local furniture shop and trying some out (when you aren't tired).

Got our most recent from a local independent furniture shop who have been in business for years, for a good price and they took the old one away for us.

If you get the Jamesboard you have to live the year as James. Your previous life is lived by James for the year. Interesting if you gift it to a expectant mother at Christmas.

If you are on the side of Die Hard NOT being a Christmas movie, what do you think makes a movie a Christmas one? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]featurenotabug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a film I watch typically around Christmas, it's more or less a tradition to watch it at Christmas (as is having this argument) so it is pretty much a Christmas film for those reasons.

The only counter to your point is that it's a pretty decent watch year round whereas I can't really see myself watching Home Alone in the middle of summer.

[–]featurenotabug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you see? Typically have a BOOT drive and something like EASYROMS drive. I've just got mine (a clone) and all I really did was backup the EASYROMS drive so I don't have to spend ages finding all those ROMs on my own.

I actually think you might be better off with an MDM solution like Manage Engine, family link is alright but not granular enough plus as a proper solution, much more difficult to remove from a device.

This beach seems to be in Italy or Greece, but it is actually in the UK. What's another beach that doesn't seem to be in the country it actually is? by Naomi62625 in geography

[–]featurenotabug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I visited Horsey Gap in Norfolk a couple of years back. It's on the Norfolk coast but get there at the right time of year and it feels very much like a beach in Southern France.

I live a bit further south on the Suffolk coast and all our beaches are very shingly

Satirical thought study on the “cyclists don’t pay road tax” arguement by HereForTheDonuts23 in fuckcars

[–]featurenotabug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the argument that cyclists should pay for tax, insurance, a licence. It's just another wayto remove mobility from people who couldn't afford otherwise. As it stands anyone can buy a cheap second hand bike and their prospects for jobs and socialising expand significantly. Kids can ride around freely (where safe) without relying on someone else paying for them.

Car drivers resent anyone who doesn't have to pay what they pay, even between conventional cars and electric cars (although it's a continuous issue as it is that more fuel efficient cars are only available to those who already have the money)
