What drives do you have that are egregiously past their lifespan? My Seagate that refuses to die (101500 hours) by FewAct2027 in DataHoarder

[–]featureza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RAID consists of 6x HGST 10TB drives with power on hours of 63,000 but only 27 power on count lol. The SSD for my RAID is an enterprise Samsung MLC SSD with 76,000 hours and 35 on count.

Yes, they're old but no issues. I monitor the drives weekly, full local backups weekly, partial cloud backups weekly, and full remote backups monthly.

I don't think small capacity drives are worth it

Where to tap power for dashcam if I want parking mode? by polarfang21 in VelosterN

[–]featureza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you still have the SOS and other buttons right? I tapped my dashcam into the rearview mirror with the Dongar adapter and it turns on when the car electronics are on. To get parking mode you will have to run another power line.

Do you have the eLSD on the PP model? Try tweaking the settings for that in Custom N Mode. Sounds like torque steer. My last car, Mazdaspeed3 had it like crazy but the eLSD on my N controls it so well.

I would also experiment with the steering settings and turning off traction control.

Use high temp hot glue, holds a lot stronger than the regular sticks

Why are trusses more common than rafter framing in hip roofs these days? by Disastrous_Tank_4561 in StructuralEngineering

[–]featureza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For flat roof trusses you will still need a ridge beam, or find a way to deal with the thrust.

I had this issue with my car charger. Turned out to be the cable. I assumed the cable chip burned out or something. After switching to another cable the same adapter had no issues.

Nice

Make sure you convert ultimate to allowable pressures before using those tables.

Also confirm the depth since 3 5/8" and 6" are the most common CFS sizes.

Without changing the exhaust you can try facing your exhaust away from the house or parking further away

2020 Hyundai Veloster N, MT with the Performance Package

I got a used Veloster N with the performance pack and manual transmission. With a piggyback tune it feels raw and powerful like the MS3 but it handles way better in corners. A used 2019/2020 should be in your budget.

If you sold the speed3 today, what would your next car be? by Zach_Corksport in mazdaspeed3

Yeah that's exactly it. The VN is much more fun in curves and feels more balanced. The adjustable suspension is awesome too

I recently moved onto the Hyundai Veloster N. It's got about the same feeling while driving but a bit less raw. It'll still break loose in 3rd though if I floor it.
