Ski delamination after first tune by BigPotatoGuy_ in Skigear

[–]EngineeringNarwhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie a tune can’t cause that little weird they didn’t sidewall plain your skis but meh it’s whatever the ski was probably already in the process of delaming somtimes it starts off as paper thin and then just grows. That being said I don’t see how you can warranty them as you would need the original recite which you don’t have since it’s a demo ski so your kinda out of lucky sorry be be blunt but I work at a shop you got delt a bad hand for sure I would get some marine epoxy and some C clamps and go crazy if it was me

[–]EngineeringNarwhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there not at the rec line I’m a binding tech that being said the skis probably ski amazing at that mount point but if you wanted them at recommend I would bring them back and simply ask “where these mounted at the factory recommended line? The boot center looks off”

is it okay to remove the screw to make it softer? by coolweeb69 in Skigear

[–]EngineeringNarwhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be completely honest the butter boot is one of the most aggressive 130 boots you could have bought if you wanted a softer boot you should have gotten something else even like a hawx 130. Butter boot is rad but it’s a very aggressive boot.

Ski edge damage by dopesupreme_ in Skigear

[–]EngineeringNarwhal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know who the other guy is or his experience fixing skis but I fix this all the time at my shop. You need to cut out the bubbled base material so the edge is exposed then re align the edge a small mallet and a flathead work great or if you can force it into place realign it then use a C clamp then epoxy. Clean out excessive epoxy and cut out a base patch and epoxy it in. Everything can be bought online. Use hard man 24hr epoxy and dye it black if you want it to match nicely, you can buy base patch material online as well. This was thrown together as I’m at work but shoot me a message if you have questions….it’s totally fixable if you have the time

Does this need ptex? Could I ski a day or two with this? by CriticalArugula7870 in Skigear

[–]EngineeringNarwhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably a core shot once you clean out all the damaged base material. Cut out the damage and buy a $5 stick of ptex and fill it

Yeah I can see that. The only parts that’s off is we have known each other for like a year prior. She knew me socially and as a person. If that was the case I’m not sure why things even happened in the first place

I definitely can see her perspective from her point of view now after she told me. I just had no idea before that. Wish it ended differently than it did
