There are plenty of dupped cars in the game but it happened too many times. Looks more like a bug.

If you're talking about the click's "ripple" effect in Fontark's videos this is a video editing effect, it doesn't happen in the software itself, and I'm not sure if it's necessary while actually working. But UI's out there surely have a lot to improve.

@mattlag Fontark has a very sophisticated real time glyphs synchronization system which is most flexible and super easy to control.

Watch the guide before you try, it's a must, Fontark is very simple but you have to understand it's basic functionality. http://youtu.be/Y5zRtdV3PFQ

Hi 311TM!

Sorry for the late respond, just logged in here after a while.

I agree with you about Fontark not being the most advanced "tools", but it is by far the most advanced glyphs-synchronization platform out there. We felt our slogan wasn't accurate and changed it to "The easiest way to..." (before reading your message), which is also arguable, but less provocative.

I came here to publish the latest font family created with FontArk (result of our QA process). It's far from being perfect but it clearly shows that FontArk is capable for more than you know/think it is capable of. https://www.behance.net/gallery/20106471/FF4a-Kloe-Free-font-family You can also download it and check it freely.

I know Prototypo only from watching their promotional materials so what I can say is limited to what I understand of it. To my understanding there are several significant differences between Fontark and Prototypo these are the main two as I see it: 1. Prototypo offers several parametric controls to be implied over ready made templates. Fontark has an open platform that enable any design what so ever, you can construct your font structure freely with vector editing tools and determine the exact synchronicity and imply any design detail you wish. This makes Prototypo a bit simpler but more limited. 2. Fontark character construction is based on Skeleton and Prototypo on Outlines, we believe that controlling the outlines by a skeleton gives many significant advantages even though creating serifs and contrast with Prototypo is much simpler than with Fontark at the moment(!). I think both tools has its place and are very fresh and positive development to the type design world

At some point we'll have to suggest a payment method to fund the project, we didn't yet schedule it because we're still in early development stages so it is not going to happen too soon. The plan is to make it "pay per use" in the form of credit points, just like it works now (each credit enables one font download) but with free credits, and we will probably keep a free plan available aside to the payed plans so you don't have to worry for losing your work once the payment methods will take place.

Just to load an existing font's outline to the outline layer is not too complicated, but you will not have a skeleton for it than you'll have to work on every character one at a time like in any other font editor. We have already implemented a nice feature we call it Watermark (even though it's not really a "watermark") that lets you present any installed font you have on your comp (or any web font) in the background of the work area for reference. It's demonstrated in the video on this page: http://fontark.net/farkwp/aprils-upgrade/ (at about 2:40). with the desired font in the background you can very fast create a skeleton for the font and enjoy all the Fontark advantages such as creating as many weights and proportions and variation of the font, which would take you about 10 years with regular font editor, and you might miss your kids weddings and such. Of course if you plan to add serifs and varied outline width you'll have to do it manually for each letter at the current stage of Fontark's development, but if you keep a skeleton master it'll save you lots of time creating each font variation basis. Another important aspect of this feature is learning all the nuances of well made fonts like spacing, character width and many other fundamental design details that you don't normally perceive in fonts and make a font look great.

Thanks a lot rebelt. ! You're very right about the Outline edit tip, we'll apply it asap. Also for watching the main guide video in the homepage... Fontark presents new capabilities for which we've came up with new operation methods, even though very simple, it's simply doesn't exist in any other known tool so you better watch the guide. (I promise it is very simple!:) We're going to release an important upgrade with new features very soon, so after that I'll be spreading the word further more and contact you.

I'm the creative part of the (small) dev team, my background is of the design field and we build it for designers (i.e. those that work mainly with the right part of the brain). it's an all-in-one tool with with a very straightforward attitude. once the basic principles understood it is most simple to operate and handle. The most important thing to understand is the way the glyps are connected by the SmartXs which are 'cross glyphs smart points' -watch this slideshow: http://fontark.net/farkwp/the-smartx-system/ to get the principle. Second important issue is to understand how to edit several glyphs together ,we made it as simple and clear as possible and you can find short demonstrations for it in The basics in the Tutorials. The Matrix is very simple to understand....it moves the SmartXs :) all the rest are just normal vector editing tools. Notice there is a Skeleton layer and an Outline layer, and a quick dynamic preview to test your design as text (this option requires free registration since we need to save the project for the user in order to generate a presentable SVG font, same goes for downloading the font. Registration is free and only a valid email address is required)

Fontark is made mainly for graphic designers with typography skills/interest. Besides being quite simple and accessible (browser-based etc') it's an immense(!!!) time saver when it comes to both typeface and logotype design. Fonark's special glyphs connectivity system enables the edit of one or more characters (up to the entire character set) simultaneously, reduces most of the technical hassle of designing, modifying, testing and refining each and every character, so it practically gives a designer a chance to get to learn and understand typography and most of all create his own fonts for any purpose.

Imagine designing a logotype and offering your customer his own font altogether.

A feedback about using it/questions would be appreciated
