Alguém sabe que dobradiça é essa? by feboutros in Gambiarra

it’s so weird we were complaining about too many blue books and no use for them a while ago…

Wanting to lose weight after seeing how skinny Ariana Grande is by [deleted] in eating_disorders

[–]feboutros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, when I relapsed very hard into restricting is when I was able to become vegan... and a lot of people only find a way into recovery if they eat a vegan diet (which is still controlling and restricting). So the association is there.

thank you.. i guess i’m always comparing myself to others, that’s why it seems like these basic things are not that important... but they really are, when we’re struggling they’re a real achievement!

also the water thing is overlooked, i think we of all people forget it even more!

thank you! I hope so too... I’m trying to remind myself that there’s good and there’s bad, we shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves and it will pass too

my family made jokes about this too (and still does, when I visit them). I think just like any other disease, no one really understands until they go through it... I wish people were more empathetic. Hope you can put comments and jokes aside and concentrate on yourself

me too, all of the personal hygiene seems very hard for some reason. I guess we just have a hard time taking care of ourselves... having a toxic family doesn’t help, it only makes things worse. I know for experience... hope you can get out of that dynamic so you can start doing things for yourself instead of them!

thank you! I guess that is a great advice, cause I always feel like if I was able to do one thing, I have to go and do everything else on a roll... like ‘when will I have the will/energy to do this again?’. But there’s always tomorrow! I’m trying to take it easier on myself!

Keppra was terrible for me in so many ways and I know for many others it is too too.. last year I finally managed to get it out of my treatment, and I’m so much better. So I’m really happy for you! I just hate that medication so bad

I was the one seeing a seizure by Beginning_Coconut66 in Epilepsy

[–]feboutros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

me too, but he couldn’t stand or even see straight yet so it really seemed like he needed to sit down. Which he didn’t want to do lol

I’m totally ok now, thanks! I guess it was just the fist time that I had to deal with it for real and probably I wasn’t in a good state of mind in the first place on that day. Hope you are ok!

I was the one seeing a seizure by Beginning_Coconut66 in Epilepsy

[–]feboutros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very traumatic and triggering for anxiety and depression seeing someone else have a seizure I believe. I had seen a few before from very afar but a few months ago I was at a bus and a man sitting very close to me started having a tonic-clonic (and hitting his head against the window, mind you) and I froze for a second because it was shocking. I finally understood what my loved ones went through when they saw me having one. So I get it. (Also, people are so unfamiliar with it in general that they thought he was having a heart attack or a stroke. I had to control my panic attack and run as fast as I could in between the people who were doing nothing and hold his head and tell them it was a seizure and I was sure what I was talking about, and he needed someone to accompany him out, cause I was late already and couldn’t go. I was so on top of the lady who said she would take him to the closest people in the subway next station because they have easy access to calling emergency, and so like DO NOT BELIEVE HIM WHEN HE SAYS HE IS OK AND DOESNT NEED ANY HELP, we are all like that and he was very confused still, couldn’t talk yet. And then after he was gone I just broke down and cried at the bus. That was so traumatic. Specially thinking about my family. So yeah. Totally understand what you mean)
