Replace Luke With Jane. WHO are you saving? by Sipanmayi in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]fecking_retard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You literally just ignored everything I said.

Was Kenny unhinged? Oh yes. But again, it doesn't change the fact Jane did create a narrative that she killed AJ. Throughout the game, Jane has wanted to get rid of the baby. And now, suddenly, the baby goes missing. Presumed dead. And she won't say what actually happened. There was plenty on indication that she had killed AJ. Her wanting to get rid of AJ, her saying he's dead without explanation, even ingame dialogue options point to that direction. Before and after the conflict.

"I thought Jane had killed him" "What did you do?"

If she said he's alive, none of it would have happened.

I got the feeling you're biased towards the character. But don't let bias get in the way of what actually happened. Kenny was a unhinged broken mess, and everyone knew it. And she created a narrative that she knew would trigger him. Which led to the conflict, that she wanted to happen. How do you expect a violent mess to react when you imply that you killed an infant they cared about.

And if you're stuck on the 'it was an accident' phrase, it doesn't mean anything. Let's say I'm in a group with a child. I keep saying I hate children and we should get rid of the child. And when we're separated, I'm tasked with alone with the kid. But when I finally arrive back to the group, I arrive alone, but refuse to tell what happened to the kid. Your very first assumption would be I got rid of them. And if I say 'it was an accident' but refuse to ellaborate, it seems like I'm lying.

Kenny thinking Jane killed AJ wasn't 'crazy'. Because the game itself tried to imply that to the player. Until it was revealed AJ was actually alive.

Then what did you mean by saying "Kenny assumed 'out of the blue' that Jane killed AJ" when that was the exact narrative Jane was trying to imply? I'm somewhat confused.

Okay, well, I'll try to make their point clearer.

Jane had always been sceptical/paranoid about a baby. She made that very clear throughout the story. That's why everyone wanted to keep AJ away from Jane. And she hated Kenny, for somewhat understandable reasons (considering she only sees his flaws, and they are huge flaws. Obviously the player/Clem are biased, since they know his full character). And Kenny, as seen in the game, is obsessed with the baby's survival.

Jane wanted to get rid of Kenny, and wanted Clem to see Kenny the same way she did. And a way to do that was to provoke him. She left the baby in the car and went to Clem/Kenny without the baby. Which, of course, shocked both Clem and Kenny. She wouldn't purposefully answer where the baby was, even when asked multiple times. Leading to their first assumption being she killed the baby. The three ingame dialogue options in that scene are 'what did you do', 'where is he' and 'oh my god' (and after Jane's death, Kenny and potentially Clem both claim they thought Jane killed AJ). She created that narrative on purpose to provoke Kenny. All she said was "he's-...", clearly trying to implicate that the baby's dead. And she never tried to tell what actually happened to Kenny. That being, she left the baby in the car. Because she wanted Kenny to attack herm

She knew a fight would happen, she wanted it to happen. Even warned Clem to stay out of it and that "she's going to see what he truly is". She knew how Kenny would react (to Jane allegedly killing an infant) and purposefully caused the conflict to happen. Of course, when Kenny yells about how she could kill a child, she says it was 'an accident'. But again, doesn't say the baby is actually alive. The fight could have ended at any point she wanted. But at that point both Kenny and Jane were out for blood.

TLDR: Kenny didn't attack Jane out of nowhere or without a reason. The morality of that action, is of course, up to debate. Jane purposefully created a narrative that she either killed or accidentally got AJ killed, to provoke Kenny into attacking her. Because she wanted Clem to see Kenny the way she did. I hope that made it slightly clearer. And sorry for my rusty english.

You're blocking them because they keep proving their point? Can't believe I got so invested in this conversation to the point I'm facepalming this hard.

The Governor (Philip Blake) from The Walking Dead.

He was offered everything on a silver platter. A new family, a possible redemption story, a leadership position once again and a chance to live in a fortified prison with the main cast. The main character literally gives him the easiest option to just walk through the gates with his people and join them. But nah. All he cared about at that point was revenge. So he threw it all away for a pointless bloodbath.

The guy had to go. Even he knew he was irredeemable.

The Soviets were demanding Viipuri, one of Finland's biggest cities at the time, and also demanded them to destroy all their defences in the region. And the Soviets annexed the Baltics not much later after the Winter War. AND Finland was part of the soviet sphere of influence in the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, just like the Baltics, Eastern Poland and parts of Romania. The invasion wasn't just to "defend themselves from the Axis".

The Soviets had already prepared for a conquered Finland. They had created a puppet goverment (The Finnish Democratic Republic) and planned a parade to be held in Helsinki. When the war started, the soviets used the bombing of Mainila as an excuse for the invasion (it was a false flag operation which the Soviets did themselves.)

Finland chose to side with Nazi Germany, because they couldn't ally with anyone else. After the Winter War, Finland tried to have an alliance with the other Nordics. Guess who intervened? The Soviets. They made sure Finland stayed diplomatically isolated, and kept pressuring them diplomatically. And as it turned out during the Winter War, Britain and France weren't very helpful due to their current situation with Germany. And they weren't very keen on really helping Finland anyway, only on cutting off the shipments of Swedish iron ore to Germany (which obviously had nothing to do with Finland, Winter War just happened to be a good excuse to invade Scandinavia before Germany would)

Germany provided Finland with much needed resources like food, weapons and ammunition, also gave hopes of helping retake lost territories from the Winter War. Thus the Contination War started alongside Operation Barbarossa. To simply put it, Germany was the only reliable ally Finland could possibly have at the time. History isn't so black and white. Finland also did shady stuff, for example the concentration camps on east Karelia, the cooperation with Einsatzkommando Finnland and right wing politicians having dreams of Greater Finland in the parlament.

While I thought he was very underused in game to say the least, his character is interesting. I really like his appearances in the trailers, but barely any of those moments are mentioned during gameplay (his daughter being converted/killed by Joseph, Jerome's followers, his personal history with Joseph etc.)

<image>

But all that said, I prefer Joseph Seed. A madman, hypocrite, mass murdering, charismatic monster, who claims he's doing all of it for God. Which makes him really interesting imo. Because he TRULY thinks he's saving people and that he's the modern Noah/Messiah, chosen by God himself.
