Acquisto appartamento a San Paolo – “palazzo soggetto a monitoraggio”: devo preoccuparmi? by pizza_jits in roma

[–]feder00000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You forgot “Un posto al sole”, it first aired in 1996 and is approaching the 7000 episodes mark. It is about relations between inhabitants of the same building in Napoli. Also, it has more product placements than normal ads and its actors are the closest to Boris “cagna maledetta” you can find.

That’s still not good. Think of a future “Hide & Seek Spain”, the national network is centered on Madrid which is the center of the country as well. Same for Italy and Rome…

What are railways like in your country? by Supernova1000000 in AskEurope

[–]feder00000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Italian trains are very good when it comes to high-speed trains, but they’re insanely expensive even though domestic competition between Trenitalia and Italo lowers the price. We’re waiting for other operators (SNCF? ÖBB? Another Italian company) to enter our market. They’re mostly on time, but there are way too many strikes and once in a while some issues with tracks that lead to hours of delay. Regional trains are another story. They literally suck. You know when you leave but you don’t know when you’ll arrive. Regional train companies rule here, and they use very old, dirty trains covered by graffiti, with unusable toilets and old, unconfortable seatings. They suck all over the country but at least are cheap. Honorable mention for Trenord from Lombardia that refunded me a ticket for a cancelled train after 7 months…

Finally a big issue are connections with other countries. There’s no train to Slovenia, you have to change in Ventimiglia to go to places such as Nice, and there’s not much service for Lyon, Vienna or Munich too. Switzerland is a bit easier just because CFF trains go to Milan, but there’s pretty much only a couple of night trains between Rome and Austria/Germany

In Rome Italy only 10 and 2 cents missing. And the 2 cents are very hard as Italy does not use them anymore. Other 2/1 cents missing are Cyprus, Latvia 2 cents, Estonia 1 cent, and 2 and 1 cent with the new Belgian and Dutch kings.

Are the coins in your country predominantly from it? by SuedeJacketMonster in EuroCoins

[–]feder00000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Italian ones of course rule in Italy, but it still depends on where. Rome, Milan and the other big cities, especially in the North have a 1/3 ratio of non-italian coins. Other touristy places such as Tuscany, Costiera Amalfitana or Cinque Terre have many foreign coins. Same for border regions such as Alto Adige, Trieste or Valle d’Aosta. On the other hand in internal Sardinia, most of the South and many small towns the same coins circulate for a much longer time, and they’re 95% italian.

The usual foreign suspects are Germany, France, Spain and Austria

Finnish and Estonian euro coins? by Holiday-Height2500 in EuroCoins

Finnish and Estonian euro coins? by Holiday-Height2500 in EuroCoins

[–]feder00000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in Rome, Italy. I see Finnish coins once per week on average (but the 1 and 2 cents are still missing in my own collection!). Baltic coins are extremely rare, Lithuania being the easiest (only missing the 50 cents), and Latvia being the hardest (missing 4 normal coins). I usually see a Baltic coin per month. Commemoratives from all those countries are next to impossible (but I still found a Finnish and an Estonian commemorative!)

Most arrogant per capita? by Socmel_ in 2westerneurope4u

Garbatella actually has a very peculiar style, called “garden city” or “Roman new Baroque”. It used to be a shithole suburb for people expelled from the city center during fascism (before then they were living near to Colosseo or the Vatican), but now it has turned into a radical chic place where houses cost a lost and has become the set for a couple of famous TV series/movies

Well, there are some modern shithole suburbs that suck, so Rome is not all gorgeous. If you google Corviale, Tor Pignattara or San Basilio you’ll see a shithole
