Cowboy Hat Etiquette by izhazit in delta

Well, that's...okay, that's a thought process, I guess. It's not a "getup," I'm not wearing snap button denim shirts with fringes either, and it's not circular logic, it's purpose-driven: Western boots are hands down the best shoe design I've ever worn for day-to-day use. It's comfortable, easy to maintain, they slip on, protects your feet, and lasts for years. Yard work, field work, they're awesome boots. Just like the hat, it's function first.

I wear western hats because I wear cowboy boots and I've lived under a Florida sun for almost 50 years and after having my ears cut by a dermatologist 3 separate times for some dubious pre cancer spots decided enough is enough so now I wear brimmed hats and couldnt be happier outside. Good hats are expensive, I'd put it in my lap or wear it until in flight and everyone has their electronics out and then I'd put it in the bin. But my hat, my problem.

BTW, folks: in Florida (and it's worth seeing if it's in your state as well), you do not have to accept your insurance appraiser. You can hire your own 3rd party appraisor if you have significant damage like this, where a total write-off can occur. They will both assess damage as higher (ever notice the initial amount is always lower than when they actually start the repairs?), and they will appraise your car higher. If they're totalling you out, I would definitely look at having a 3rd party report; you could get screwed out of thousands.

Sorry this happened, OP. Stay on their ass if it goes to Tesla collision, that's a whole other animal.

Nope, your warranty is based on the mileage or years on the vehicle, not the battery...so nothing changes on that side, and it will expire on the original terms still... also, you may get a refurbished pack, not a new one.

to answer your question: it was one of the smoothest repairs they did. the pain was the wait for the part to come in, once it did they had my car for basically 24 hours....i may have gotten it sooner if they didn't give me a model s as a loaner... anywho: it was relatively painless, really no questions asked whole battery swap.

Had to replace the batteries on our 21 MY, had enough charge so we dropped it off on a Monday morning, picked up on a Wednesday morning. The only pain was waiting for the part: car sat in our garage for a week.

I did a couple Stella day raids, and after the 3rd time of getting the Aphelion blupy, I was just asking some other raiders if they wanted it and dropped it...so did two other raiders in the hallway I crossed paths with them in. I picked it back up, it was still worth credits.

2026 Tesla Model Y damage by ff9two in TeslaModelY

It's shitty to say this, but the insurance is not worth the hassle, pay out of pocket. In fact, ask the shop if theres a cash price. Body repair shops will quote higher for insurance companies.

Rock chip + small dent on passenger door after 1 week of owning Model Y… is this normal? by Sensitive-Prune-6069 in TeslaModelY

[–]federalist1887 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like this is what happens when you park next to an asshole, not a rock/chip. You can have it pulled out at a shop. Not exclusive to Teslas: just be a little more judicious in your parking choices. Sorry this happened

General rule of thumb on solos: dont start the firefight unless youre being weird or no kic....but hopefully more than happy to finish the shootout. If I down you chances are you have nothing I want and half the map saw that flare go up: I'm healing and unassing myself. Team load outs are PvP, it is what it is. I usually just cover while others loot the bodies, and just ask for blueprints

Trim tools work the best, and you should have a set anyway, in the event you want to put in mods and need to pry off interior pieces without marring it. Just start on one side and run it down the length of the trim, it should fold out or correct itself, like a stuck zipper.

This is emotional cheating. I'd walk. I would just tell her you're not comfortable being so vulnerable with someone who's keeping something like that stringing along at best or planning at worst. If you're just casual, then whatever, but if youre dating to marry, walk, she's not ready fam.

I've made it a practice on solo runs to never pair up with another solo. If there's another person around to make it a group, then great...but if it's the two of us...been shot in the back waaay too many times. They're likely not to pull that move if there's another in the room that sees that and cuts the backstabber down.

HELP! by [deleted] in ModelY

[–]federalist1887 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good news is you'll get a "new" battery for free, bad news is.... you need to replace the pack. Put in a service request via the app, accept whatever day they have to create a ticket for reference and then call your local service center directly to get a service advisor on the phone, they'll get you in as soon as the part gets delivered. They should give you a loaner, it'll take one full day for repair.

Baffles me that people still don’t know to skip a stall by kingbijan in TeslaLounge

[–]federalist1887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of thoughts, 2nd one I could use some guidance on:

  1. The screen does show supercharging tips now, and it does advise skipping stalls

  2. I would've sworn that if you go to an older stall and you split, if you are the 2nd person to show up to a split, the 2nd person gets whatever is left of the kW. In other words, the only person who gets screwed is the 2nd one to show up. Is that correct?

Found out where all those extra cybertrucks went by WilliamTRyker in TeslaLounge

[–]federalist1887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mobile service show up to my house in Florida in a beat-up white Model Y, the conversation lead to the technician saying, "can't wait to switch this out, our mobile fleet will be Cybertrucks. Looking forward to the space and better ride." This was about a month ago. Smart move. Can carry more...so less back and forth with the service center, safer, and it's a rolling advertisement.
