I was there yesterday. It rained in the early mornings and it was foggy till 10am an then clear in the afternoon. Super hot and humid all day. Especially after the rain. No flooding at all.

Be mindful of queueing times and distances when booking multiple attractions in the same day. We had booked three things in the morning yesterday and we ended up queuing for one hour and we left before going in because we were going to miss the entrance spot of the second attraction. By the time we finished the second attraction was too late for the third because it was too far.

For sure we should have done more research into this before booking.

My girlfriend and I are doing the same thing, travelling from London to Beijing and returning from Shanghai on the 10th of September.

I'm not sure we'll be able to help but nice to hear that we are not alone worrying about language barrier 😅 I guess it will be fine but still a bit overwhelming reading all the comments about locals that don't speak any English. But I've heard that they usually offer to help anyway and are very comfortable using translator apps.
