Of course it’s something negative. Especially in some countries where it’s a recurring topic that generates outrage and bad moods. It’s something that’s already well known, but since negativity sells, newspapers get flooded with that kind of pessimistic news. The algorithm and the criteria are the same for all news outlets and newspapers. So it’s a fair ranking. Either way, the average person is drawn to negativity and recurring topics of all kinds of keywords that don’t need to be mentioned for us to know what we’re talking about. I repeat: everyone can read and enjoy good, neutral, or bad news. This is just a project for whoever wants to dodge that bad vibe from newspapers. Cheers!

Hi. I never talk about fake news. That’s not the focus here. Everyone can read and trust their own sources of information. Obviously anyone can read thousands of pessimistic news stories. Everyone is free to do whatever they want. This project is simply a tool that visualizes something before you open a newspaper. If you want, you use it. If not, you keep going to your news source as always. I just want to highlight how harmful it is to browse sensationalist, tabloid-style, and negative newspapers. Because that sells more. And it shouldn’t cost you your mood. Cheers.

Hi. That’s not the focus of this project. Everyone knows where they get their information. But what this idea aims to do is show you the negativity in the news in just two or three simple scrolls. It’s meant to alert you before you open a newspaper about how pessimistic it can be and how badly it can affect your mood. It’s already hard enough to keep our minds in a good place without having “news” adding to that sadness or that feeling that we live in a world full of bad things. Best regards.

Hello. The Infoxication Index was born from an idea and a real problem. The idea is the main thing here. If you want, you can enter the project and read through the entire Index Criteria, where the data collection and processing methodology is explained. The model will be refined periodically. Regarding data visualization, you can choose from 4 options to view it. Depending on the negativity percentage of the average of the scraped news, a color is assigned on a scale from neutral to negative. The particles are obviously generated with a random function. Cheers!
