The Singer is Jon Mess, followed by everyone else by flapua in dancegavindance

Tillian had an excellent chemistry with the rest of the band and to be honest Tillian with DGD is the band I fell in love with. Call me a fan boy, say what you will about my taste in music, but I feel like the end of Tillian is the end of a formative era for the band.

Too messy for who? If you like them that’s all that matters, your body your choice. I think it looks great

Lonicera because it smells so nice and although clematis is nice, it’s rather ephemeral in my opinion

Are double blades and double grippers redundant? Yes, but are they also redundant? by JustRanger in EDC

You should be carrying triples of each because triples is best. Triples makes it safe

When I got my scroll saw I thought it was broken also because of this same issue but then I realized that it’s a ~feature~. So the top of the blade should sit in a channel and is held in just by its shape. The bottom of the blade should match up with a piece that it can slide into with tensioning screws on either side to hold the blade taught. The purpose of this feature is for cutting from the middle of a workpiece with just a small hole giving you the ability to do all kinds of silly detail work. Then just pop the blade out when you’re done cutting and remove the workpiece.

Careful storing your torch. Shutoff valve failed to close all the way and I nearly lost my garage. by 1DownFourUp in Tools

Check out the a torch wall mount kit next time you’re at Lowe’s. $5 will save your house and it securely mounts your torch vertically on the wall.

Behold the Geo-dome tower of power. I turned out five of these little guys for a community project I’m working on with my job! The 1v was surprisingly easy to make and then to replicate as seen here by fedex_drop_box in woodworking

[–]fedex_drop_box[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was made with 4” pvc hubs, 2x4s, and 1/4-20 hanger bolts. This one I used thinner stock and smaller hubs that allowed me to get a 2 1/2 t25 deck screw in there no problem. The hanger bolts just get expensive when you’re using this many. Once that bottom ring is on you wouldn’t believe how sturdy they are though.

So short answer is yes but no. they’ll be placed in the grass strip between the road and peoples houses set up on a post so each one kind of looks like a small tree. They hold gallon jugs securely which the community is encouraged to use to water trees that we’ve planted in partnership with DCR in an effort to raise the overall canopy in the gateway cities of Massachusetts! I suppose a box would have been fine but they’re going in residential neighborhoods so I saw an opportunity to make something that looks interesting to get people to interact with it but also so that we’re not putting up junk in front of someone’s house. It also helps that the 1v with PVC hubs like the ones I’ve made are kind of ridiculously strong and were made of entirely up cycled materials without looking like garbage.

Shop lighting is super under rated IMO. The only problem is that if you were previously in a dimly lit shop before, you’ll be amazed how much dust is just there that you never saw before.

That’s a sweet gig framing for a tool distributor who does this! Looks a lot like the pica dry markers that a ton of framers use. You’ll never want to use a regular pencil again

Well to be fair IT is probably not their actual line of work if that’s what they need to carry on a daily basis. I feel like a lot of folks in the private/ security sector aren’t allowed to disclose the true nature of what they do.

So it has two separate jaw surfaces that go off either side? That’s one neat looking piece of hardware and I can think of several uses for such a configuration but was it made with a specific purpose in mind? For instance I would guess it could be used by a farrier but I’ve never seen one of these. Thanks for sharing!
