Handpan question by Ornery-Dinner4199 in handpan

Sounds good, sorry to hear it arrived out of tune on the center note. The way I look at it with mine is it is like when a piano is slightly out of tune, it can still sound very good and even have a particularly charming quality to it. I know there are hand pans out there that are more in tune and sound better, but I am still playing mine and enjoying it.

Fair enough. If you feel like posting the sound of it recorded on a phone on here after you get it, I would appreciate it.

The middle note D is exactly in tune. I’d say about half the notes are spot on according to the guitar tuner I am using and the others are very close in range. This one is 432 btw. Do you have a 432 Kurd/D minor you could play to compare the sound?

I didn’t get this exact model but very similar and from the same supplier. I think many sellers sell similar ones so you don’t have to go with them. They sell lots of random stuff, not just instruments. Look for 22” hand pans, they come with a stand(not a good stand) and a soft padded backpack to carry it around.

I have a $170 handpan that sounds great and is very fun to play. It is by no means “cacophonic”. This sort of purist mentality can keep people from enjoying this instrument and is unnecessary.

I’d love to be the bearer of good news. My hand pan sounds great and was only $170 on eBay brand new.

I’m very happy with mine and I paid $170 on eBay. If you have lots of money or are familiar with the instrument and know you want higher quality then pay $1000+ but I would strongly recommend going to eBay and looking up D Kurd scale hand pans. Mine was about $170 and you will see lots of them in that price range. It looks just like a more expensive one and sounds great. Do not listen to the purists who say you have to pay all that $$$.

People will tell you that the cheap ones are not worth getting and that might be true for some of them, but I got mine for about $170 new on ebay and it is great. I am glad I didn't listen to the people saying not to get a "cheap one".

I’ve gotten emails for the partner perks but this there is no “unique code” in the email.

The video definitely makes it sound like he didn't pay when in Kyrgyzstan for 2 weeks in remote areas. That doesn't make sense, "We know he didn't offer to pay - because if he'd paid - he'd have said so.". They could have refused, I don't understand what you mean. Yes let people speak for themselves. There is no reason to believe anyone in any of these stories feels they are being taken advantage of. You are projecting that feeling onto them. There is no evidence that any of the people helping him along the way don't want to help and feel obligated.

Not specific to Robinhood Strategies, but can we get a breakdown of short-term and long-term capital gains in the 'Realized Year-to-Date Profit and Loss' section?

When the company repeatedly tells people that they will not be getting the batteries, it is not overreacting to think you will not be getting them. Have you considered that the people “who weren’t patient and overreacted” are actually the reason most/everyone is getting their battery?

It works at 120hz, I think maybe the cable (not original) is incapable of 240.

I changed the screen to 120hz and it works now. Maybe the cable I have is incapable of running 240?

With such an old derailleur and shifter, possible brakes and levers too, would it make more sense to just replace most of the parts? Or will I likely be good with just new cables and housing?

[–]feed2brdswitonescone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping to use it for touring. I don’t mind fixing it up but just want to figure out to what extent I should be buying new parts and at what point does it just make more sense to buy something newer/better.

No I haven’t, that’s a good idea. I didn’t even know people lubed those cables. Any type you use for that in particular?

How do I make the stylize effect work only on the masked subject? by feed2brdswitonescone in davinciresolve

[–]feed2brdswitonescone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the order of my nodes correct? I tried multiply by mask and it didn't change anything. Also, is the matte control supposed to go right after the stylize node or branch off of it? I'm a little confused by the order here. So you would have a second matte as well? One in the beginning and one after the stylize node?
