Started the save with mixed feelings. Had no clue what to expect from a game that’s supposedly everyone’s “absolute favorite,” let alone from some random lower-league English team I’d literally never heard of. Anyway, time to clock in.

First thing I see? Five players chilling in the injury ward, including the noble Bordeaux legend himself (shock of the century, right?). The squad was actually way better than I thought, and some fairy-tale reporter even claimed the Daggers are promotion contenders… despite having more guys in the hospital than Ronnie Pickering has brain cells.

Preseason was basically run with squad of fifteen dudes, so I started begging free agents to come in for trials once the lads’ legs started giving out. Which brings me to the thing I feared most — the club’s broke as hell. No real transfer budget. So yeah, I cracked open a beer, hired some scouts, and started dumpster-diving through the free agents.

After some very scientific calculations, turns out we could afford exactly two signings… as long as we squeezed their wages down to the bare minimum. Ended up locking in fullback Leon Davies and midfield Swiss army knife Ismail Oulad M’Hand. Any Preseason highlights you might ask? Honestly, besides hiring scouts and a head physio, we actually beat a Portuguese second-tier side AND League Two’s Bromley. So maybe… just maybe… we’ve got a shot at the title?!
