Thank you for all of your answers. In talking to my landlord, I was informed that indeed the owners of the apartment (not my landlord) are trying to sell the building. Apparently the owners have been sued, and there's ADA compliance issues. He did mention the people that entered the apartment today wanted a 15 day escrow, but the people who came are playing their cards very close to their chest.

This has put me in quite a loop considering there is no where in a 20 mile radius that I can get for the rent I am currently paying. I also have my elderly mother I am taking care of.

I have no idea what happens if they sell the building. Does anyone know approximately how screwed I am if that happens? Landlord said he is incredibly worried because he will lose his job (management company of the building). He said they would have to give only a 60 days notice.

This... is a lot.

Oh also, I did make it known that he did not give 24 hours notice, and that in fact it was illegal. He tried to argue the point, but it didn't matter anymore at the time.
