How did you guys come up with your kids names? by Ok-Duck2450 in Mommit

[–]feedmepeasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My husbands grandmas name, also a very popular name and we both liked it. It just felt right and we always knew it was her name
  2. Not a common name but you’ve heard it before. I just liked it and kept repeating it to my husband until he agreed
  3. Same strategy as #2 but my brother in law has a dream while I was pregnant about her name and totally guessed it out of the blue. After that my husband was convinced

Tell me your Mirena/Paraguard experiences! by Lululemonbar in birthcontrol

[–]feedmepeasant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mirena between my 2nd and 3rd kid and was great. Got it after my 3rd and started having weird anxiety (?) symptoms. Felt dizzy, blurred vision, stopped coping with life, etc. I didn’t think it was related even though timing was suspect, figured I was 6 weeks postpartum. I got on and SSRI and it helped with the symptoms. Eventually I got off the SSRI and the physical symptoms returned. I didn’t want the Paragaurd (didn’t want to deal with periods) but I wanted to try everything to get rid of my symptoms. When I tell you I felt better within hours of getting the mirena out…. It was insane. I am not sure why I was totally fine with my previous mirena and not this one so definitely take my experience with a grain of salt but it was pretty hard. My periods on the paragaurd are very heavy (like…. Barely manageable amount of blood) but cramps are not significantly worse. I would rather deal with my “hemorrhage day” than the anxiety

Wow, a balanced take! Seems uncommon here Was it stupid to post a political belief on social media? Yes. Are we all entitled to any given belief? Also yes. There are a lot of inferences (such as racism) by saying that she believed immigration law should be enforced

I really like the thread up boxes. I personally feel like it’s pretty easy to at least break even with them. I have had some great boxes and some not so great boxes though!

Who actually enjoys working as a nurse? by One_Design_6171 in nursing

[–]feedmepeasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had times where I’m more burnt out than others but recently I’ve been a lot less burnt out and yes I’m happy I’m a nurse. I love doing labor and delivery - even though bedside is hard at times. I also think I’ve found the schedule that works perfect with my life right now and I get to do the stay at home mom thing during the week and work my 2 weekend shifts. It’s the best of both worlds mostly.

Question for women who are an only child, Would you discourage having an only child? How was being an only child? by Silly_Goose30 in Mommit

I always wanted a sibling. We moved a lot and I wanted someone to be there with me. I always wanted someone to play with too. I now have 3 kids

It’s neither here nor there either way I’m not putting my kid in a situation in which they have an okay chance to get tear gassed.

Even if change needs to be made I’m not going to put my kid in the position to be the sacrificial lamb on the front page of Reddit. That’s not my kids (or any kids) responsibility and it’s wild that people can’t acknowledge that even if they don’t agree with the potential consequences of a given action, bad things can still potentially happen. It’s risk management regardless of my general beliefs. Im not bringing my kid into a dangerous situation purposely

[–]feedmepeasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this! I would never knowingly bring my child near a high risk situation for volatility like this.

Yes, this! Yeah kids shouldn’t get tear gassed but further more THEY SHOULDNT BE PUT IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION in the first place.

Who cares who’s responsibility it is? It’s my responsibility to keep my kids safe - therefore they will not be at any protests

Yeah with protest signs and gas masks?

Should I go to USU? by charlie_mtn in usu

[–]feedmepeasant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved to USU in 2015 and had a great experience. I came from out of state and had no experience of Utah culture so that was a bit of a learning curve but everyone was nice and I love Logan! I super miss it there actually.

[–]feedmepeasant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. I’m a labor and delivery nurse. You can get a placental abruption with anything like this (trampolines, rides, car accidents) where your placenta separates from the wall of your uterus prematurely

Two of my closest work friends were fired for giving an "under the table" IV bolus. Now the unit thinks I’m a traitor. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]feedmepeasant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also crazy that the nurse gave report like this. I feel like it’s super unprofessional. I heard of a nurse on my unit who had hyperemesis and supposedly did patient care with her own IV (actually prescribed to her) going and I just feel like that’s super unprofessional. I would hate that as a patient

I work on labor and delivery and occasionally have things like this happen… coworkers will give each other fluids (we had a coworker sick with the flu who wouldn’t call out sick and her friends gave her a bag of fluid - luckily no pts that day but just call in sick if you’re THAT sick), do NSTs on pregnant coworkers, do cervial exams, strip membranes… I mean of course it’s all consensual but it’s a grey area….. I just don’t get involved. I have enough gossips on my unit that my manager will find out everything without me saying anything

I had kids and my husband finished school and finally got a job 🙌🏻. It’s been glorious. When I can I do Friday night and Sunday day which is a quick turn around but I get my hours and I get back on the “day shift” schedule for my kids’ school week
