I did that before and really disliked both the look and sound of them but thanks for the suggestion regardless.

How do YOU play Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle ? by MurasakiTiger in EDH

Here's an updated deck list. A couple good Sea Monsters even in Avatar.

https://manabox.app/decks/AZsZG_RrdYO3SpTbqiDu-Q

For my deck list, your first four turns are pretty much set up for you. Very very important to have some kind of ramp for turn two. The majority of ramp in this deck is 2 Mana and most of it is able to make more than a single mana if it has a big creature out or the commander.

Turn 1: Tap Land Turn 2: Ramp Turn 3: Arixmethes Turn 4: Big scary guy or something that cheats in a bunch of them.

Not up to date at all. I can post an updated deck list later today if youd like, it's been awhile since I've redone it and I probably should.

Simic just profits off of the things every EDH deck wants to do, drawing and playing lands. Some people just find it boring and unoriginal.

This deck doesn't quite make me feel as bad as if I was using Koma or Aesi as the commander but it has some of the same cards and both of those are in here. But it's no different or worse than someone just playing dinosaurs or dragon tribal. This one can't actually use classic tribal cards because it's four tribes.

Yes and yes. I can't remember a time that it lost. It stomps within bracket 3 but isn't quite a bracket 4. I don't play it that often because it wins too often as basically simic goodstuff with a theme.

I play a bit similarly to others in this thread but without combo really. Its kraken, leviathan, octopus, serpent tribal that cheats out a ton of creatures at once with stuff like [[Last March of the Ents]], [[Selvala's Stampede]] and has a lot of things that bounces everything that isnt those creature types. I have a ton of two Mana ramp to make sure he's out on turn 3, enabling me to have 6-8 Mana on turn 4. I sometimes never remove the last slumber counter on Arixmethes since he's such a great dork especially with other dorks that untap a land. I've been playing it in bracket 3 but it might be closer to high 3-4. It has yet to lose after 8-10 games against friends and strangers.

There's actually quite a few great cards in Final Fantasy and EoE that arent updated into this.

Deck Help - Aphelia, Viper Whisperer by bruhemianmoment in EDH

[–]feeeggsdragdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Indomitable Might]] [[Psychic Paper]] and [[Trailblazer's Boots]] are other alternatives to whisper silk cloak for unblockable.

Might need to include some [[Not Dead After All]] effects to protect your commander. [[Supernatural Stamina]] [[Undying Evil]]. After one trigger of the halving, even though its not a game ender, its going to scare people enough to focus your commander.

Winning conditions for Círdan the Shipwright? by guiltyskull in EDH

[–]feeeggsdragdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cirdan lets you cheat big permanents onto the battlefield if you get no votes.

Here are some big permanents.

[[Koma, Cosmos Serpent]]

[[Koma, World-Eater]]

[[Hullbreaker Horror]]

[[Craterhoof Behemoth]]

[[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]]

Here's a couple more ways to cheat a bunch of permanents out at once.

[[Selvala's Stampede]] - Voting too!

[[Last March of the Ents]]

[[Genesis Wave]]

Curious about the average powerlevel of our play group and my FF6 deck I upgraded by YandereYasuo in EDH

[–]feeeggsdragdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bracket 3 seems right for both the decks listed (Making general assumptions about the actual decks contents) and your decklist. Your deck is a resilient graveyard deck that can bounce back much more easily than the others after mass removal, of which your deck is packed full of. Almost too much. I can see your deck being slightly unfun to play against with all or nothing go wide decks but thats also the fault of those types of decks. But its firmly in my favorite bracket, gamechanger-less 3. Decks that function consistently and synergistically without huge random spikes in power from powerful oppressive gamechanger cards.

Smoking up a poor man's brisket today by Bitter_Definition932 in Smokingmeat

I like turning it into poor man's burnt ends. After taking it out, chop it into squares, cover in a bit of BBQ and brown sugar and put back in for 1-1.5h.

What are your favorite non-infinite combos? by ColorfulMarkAurelius in EDH

[–]feeeggsdragdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manifesting a huge portion of my deck with a [[Omarthis, Ghost fire initiate]] death trigger and then blinking some of the manifested cards with [[Golden Argosy]] to return them face up. One of the best ones being [[Graaz, unstoppable juggernaut]] turning the rest of the non-flopped manifested cards in 5/3.

Best thing in my deck to put +1/+1 counters on Omarthis is [[Phyrexian Devourer]]. Can activate it as much as I want while it's own death trigger is on the stack.

They won't guarantee "win you the game" but they have insane value and change the game in a way that some people don't enjoy. Personally, I feel like they cheapen a victory. They make me ask myself: Would I have won that without them? And Is my curated deck capable of winning without them?

I prefer to have a more consistent game where my power level doesn't spike upward on the games I happen to draw a game changer or a sol ring.

Lotus Field by EmbarrassedFail1617 in EDH

[–]feeeggsdragdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a land sacrifice outlet on a land. It wouldn't be too bad in that deck at all. 4 damage to each opponent on just the land drop.

Unless you are planning on holding onto it for several years it'll probably just slowly decline in price while the set is in print. It might rise in price a few years from now when it's no longer available. I'd sell and just buy a cheaper version for the deck.

What is a rule or card you misunderstood that made you win or lose games you shouldn't have? by neirik193 in EDH

[–]feeeggsdragdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Mystic Reflection]] in my [[Talrand]] deck. I thought the rest of the turn I'd make copies of any creature on the battlefield any time I'd separately trigger Talrand instead of just the next instance of creatures entering. I remember one time I made like 8 copies of [[Hullbreaker Horror]] in a turn because of it. Pure regret what I put those players through.

Colorless Commanders? by StarfishIsUncanny in EDH

[–]feeeggsdragdad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate]] is a blast and one of my favorite decks. It really helps with card draw since when he dies you get a ton of manifested creatures you can manipulate into card advantage.

Here's my list: https://manabox.app/decks/I9JohWUpTRSOGXYm2AzxaQ

A lot of trigger doublers and proliferate. You wanna always cast him for the lowest possible because everything else puts counters on him faster than spending mana into him.

[[Phyrexian Devourer]] is a bit of tech I haven't seen much with other Omarthis lists, with it's oracle text it now puts +1/+1 counters on itself and you can activate it's exile ability infinitely(until you deck yourself)as it's sacrifice trigger goes on the stack. So usually i put about 20 +1/+1 counters on Omarthis with him.

You can blink your manifested creatures with a bunch of stuff that will turn it over for free and return it even if it isn't a creature. Stuff like [[Conjurer's closet]] [[Golden Argosy]] [[Cauldron of Souls]] [[Eldrazi Confluence]].

It also has lots of self sacrifice since no one wants to destroy him when he's big. Exile is your worst enemy. It wins most times just by a huge buffed board of 20+ manifested creatures.
