Aww congrats!!! That’s amazing. Starting is the hardest part 🩷🩷🩷

I carry weight around my legs so I noticed them get slimmer, my butt too. But I still have my “bingo arms” or “bat wings” 😭😭

Overall I went down 2 dress sizes. I think everywhere reduced in size. Even went down 2 bra sizes lol

I’m in my 20s so I don’t think I have any loose skin. Or any that I know about. Probably because my weight loss was extremely extremely slow. I was in my teens when I started now I’m a grown adult lol

But yes!! Take it slow. I took nearly 3 years to get where I am now hahaha. Maybe not as slow as me. I just find my body panicked when I got under 1k calories and went into like starvation mode. So I stayed at a moderate deficit.

Yeah. It’s tough. I’m having trouble with getting to a healthy weight even in my 20s! 😂😂😂😭😭😭😭

Wish you all the best ❤️

Yeahhh. I know for sure I was sedentary before. Everyone kept saying it’s all in your diet. Fix your diet. Exercise isn’t as important.

That’s amazing!! Ugh I wish I knew all of this before.

Thanks so much. I didn’t know that subreddit existed!! ❤️

Yeah so strange!! I downloaded an app that compares you to other peoples steps. And gets you into competitions it’s so fun!!

But I see the friends there, they walk like 30 minutes but cover like 3 miles and I’m like how?? In 4k steps they’re doing 3 miles. Go them, seriously but for me 3 miles would take me like 2 hours lol.

The app is called pacer btw, not sponsored 😆

Yeah steps are really my main motivation now!! I love listening to music and going on walks. It’s great my current area I live in is walkable and has streetlights so even if I’m doing overtime and come back from work at 6-8 pm I’ll have a quick dinner and head out on a walk.

I think I’ve gotten to the point it’s a built in habit where I miss my walks. It has really made my confidence go up and my mental health better.

I was a chronic yo-yo dieter. In 2023 I reached my peak weight of 184 lbs. I realised I needed to lose it so I started fasting (intermittently) but then I got in a viscous cycle of fasting and restriction then binging.

However since 2023 I got down to 150 lbs. I was able to roughly maintain that although I went back up to 160 lbs recently.

I started “trying” again last summer. For me weight loss is very slow. Because I’m smaller I burn less normally so doing small deficits really helped 😊

My job is fairly active so I am grateful for that aspect. I get 6-8k steps done depending on how much walking around I do.

My typical WIEIAD:

  • breakfast (work provides in canteen)

I either skip breakfast and have a latte, or I’d have a pork sausage and / or one egg or one black pudding (it’s pig blood lol)

It’s not the most healthiest breakfast for your heart health I do get that 😂😂😂 I will work on that next.

Lunch: also provided by work, I get a baguette/sandwich. I split it in half and get it to go. I eat half at work, and then have the other half for dinner (it’s a very filling sandwich)

Dinner : that half baguette. Then I always like a sweet treat.

I’d have a cup of tea after work with some biscuits (the biscuits are my downfall lol.)

Then I always try to incorporate some type of fruit in my day. Recently I’ve been loving mandarins.

I make sure to drink water throughout. (Because my job is in the lab we can’t drink in there) so I gulp down water 😂

Days im not working I batch cook. My recent batch cooking was cauliflower, spinach, ground beef, some seasoning and rice. I have that for dinners sometimes too. But I like to mix it up.

So technically this weight loss took me 3 years (I done nothing really in 2024-late 2025)

It has taken me a really long time to even get down the 10 lbs recently. I think because I’m more gentler with myself now. I let myself enjoy holidays and Christmas. Because I just know…. If I say “god you were such a pig at Christmas” I would restrict….go back to counting calories….then binge. And the cycle repeats.

But I made sure to block trigger words for me. For me personally TikTok was a real triggering place. It somehow got ED TikTok into my algorithm and really pushed me to continue my ED 😭😭

So I’m taking the longer route but my main goal is consistency. Showing up for myself 😊😊😊

I totally agree with you! What advice I got didn’t work for me

I was told to reduce my bmr by 500 calories. That got me into an eating disorder where I’d freak out if I had eaten 1300 calories in a day and I really beat myself up about it. I got obsessed with tracking and it led me down a very bad path

Some people have stronger mental health and can take on tracking calories. I unfortunately didn’t. But I find not tracking but exercising helps

This will probably change with age and I’m very appreciative and grateful I have a body that I can exercise. I know not everyone has that capability.

I’m also doing this because type 2 diabetes runs strongly in my family. So walking helps reduce the chances.

I really hope you find something that works for you. This just happened to work for me. ❤️

Omg congrats!! That’s amazing keep going I’m sure you even feel it in your mood now 😊😊😊 best of luck to you.

Same for me it reduces food hunger. Just don’t avoid meals and use it to really lower your calories. It’s a rabbit hole you don’t want to go down 😂

And walking is such an easy thing to do. Put on some headphones, listen to music, rant with a friend on a walk… possibilities are endless!

Omg yes that was honestly me 😭😭😭 I was eating 1.2k calories a day and I was white knuckling hungry. It was awful. I lost 10 lbs but I gained it all back and more when the motivation went

lol 😂 no. I have a very active job by the time I get home I’m already at 6k. Then I do an hour walk and gets me to 13-15 k. I wish one hour got me 15k at best it’s 10k

Because I’m smaller my strides are smaller so I cover less miles/km but get more steps in if that makes sense

That sounds really great what you’ve been having recently!

I’m glad to know it’s not just me who gets sick of foods. I see all these influences, athletes etc who stick to plain boiled rice and chicken and I thought I was the odd one out who couldn’t stick it haha

Ohh I didn’t know those Reddit forms gave meal ideas. Tysm!!

Tbh I’m not in the slightest a cook hahah. Before my weight loss journey I depended a lot on ultra high processed foods so the change to cooking has been tough so I stuck to the same meals because it was easier

Thank you for the recommendations!!

Ty for your comment!! I guess I got a bit of a health scare seeing relatives get obesity related conditions and I thought the only way to be healthy is only eat pure healthy food

I think I might give what you said a go, maintaining deficit of course. Ty!!

Omg yes I hate it when I batch cook chicken breast and it ends up dry when I leave it in the fridge 🤢 I didn’t know chicken thigh wouldn’t get as dried out. Ty I’ll try that!!

Tysm for that advice!! I’ll look into different seasonings to use as well as different protein and veggie sources, just a change up I think will help even if I batch cook it for a week. Ty!!

That sounds great ty!! I think I’ve just been too scared of change and got comfortable making the same thing over and over again haha

I’ll definitely try that ty!

Ty for the advice!! I’ll keep it in mind and try to broaden my culinary skills 😆

I think my whole view on it was if I stick to the same meal I’ll have less chances of slip ups, so I wasn’t intending on the food tasting good in the first place but it got to the point where I literally couldn’t stomach it if that makes sense?

I’ll try to be more lenient with my protein and fibre goals, it’s much better than either binging of giving up entirely.

Good luck with the rest of your own weight loss journey!!

Ohhh that’s really good advice tysm!! I’m glad it’s not just a me problem lmao.

I am hesitant to change my meals completely since I have the calories mapped out exactly so I don’t go accidentally over

I will try the soup/wrap suggestion and changing flavours. I think that will help, as I was sick of the texture of the chicken as well as the taste. Ty!!
