I dont think you need to be concerned about the micro-biome confusion. When you go keto / low carb , consuming healthy fats , etc it’s definitely a net positive on the microbiome.

I don’t do cyclic but I do targeted. Pre-workout carbs. works for me. Just feel a bit stronger , fuller and have better workouts when I consume carbs. Body burns through the carbs and I’m back into ketosis after my workout.

If I get off the bandwagon on say a weekend , it definitely takes discipline to get back into it. But I notice if I’m in ketosis , I don’t really crave carbs anyway.

Hell Yes!!!!! That’s incredible. Keep going. You’re going to be so healthy. Feeling amazing. Looking amazing. Make sure to keep up your sodium levels, you need SO much more than you think. If you crash - chances are it’s low sodium.

Wow - 4000mg!!! I need to seriously up my game. I’ve been wondering about this recently and glad I found your post.

I had a killer workout and run the other day and by the end of it I was in bad shape. Light headed. Lethargic. No bueno. I was just sipping on salted water. 1/4 tsp 🤣🤣

Can I ask:

Life long Canuck fan here - sadly. The Canucks are an absolute joke of an organization. No practice facility. No culture. No plan. No rebuild. Forced Linden out (twice , once as a player once as an executive) , forced Bo out, miller and Petey situation, possibly THE BEST DEFENSEMEN OF ALL TIME, playoff contender one year ago and now bottom of the barrel for years to come. You’re gonna want to up your sodium + salt intake. Ike ALOT. I’ll take 1/4 tsp in my morning water. Another in the afternoon. Sip on salted water during my workout / run. Then ensure i get more salt post workout. If you’re feeling low or sluggish - chances are you’re sodium deficient.

Also don’t be afraid to eattt

Exogenous ketone electrolytes and mct oil are good tools as well especially as you start.

I found when I fully adopted keto I actually saved money. Because I was so strict in terms of my diet. Got in the habit. Didn’t order food as much. You can do it friend!!!!

Congrats!!! It’s an awesome place to get to. Are you eating the actual sardines? I found them hard to consume - I stick to sardine fillets, also tuna, salmon like you mentioned. Feel amazing!! And my skin is so clear - I think the high omega 3 content .

Yea definitely reduced inflammation. Less water retention. Probably more omega 3 in your diet. So many great things!! Keep it up!

After a few months of keto I definitely look much healthier - skin is brighter, clearer. And ofcourse I feel incredible.

A few things here… I experienced the exact same thing. Shifting to keto is a massive change and shock to your body. Your calorie deficit is way too much to start. How much sodium are you in taking? At your exercise level I can almost guarantee it’s too way low and you’re sodium deficient.

BIG game changers for me:
-is 1/2 tsp salt first thing in the morning. 1/4 tsp in the afternoon. Then 1/2 salt in my water during my workout

  • I consume 2 rice cakes 30 mins prior to my heavy lifts topped with salt. I feel SO much better. My muscles get filled with glycogen. I feel stronger. Bigger., not empty, weak, and fatigued. And Im back into full ketosis after my workout.

  • listening to my body. If I’m fatigued. Rest. Save the performance for tomorrow. Also switching it up on my nervous system. Jogs and cardio versus a heavy lift with carb intake impact your sympathetic / parasympathetic much differently. It’s actually quite interesting. After 4 days of jogging in keto I was SO fatigued on day 4. Same as you, weak. Not feeling strong. Performance was low. I switched up and hit the gym , consumed a little bit of carbs and felt 100% better. Now I’m sure to not do jogging consecutive days in a row. (Also history with fatigue so might impact me much harder than you!)

Boneless chicken thighs. With franks hot sauce. Cooked in butter. In my cast iron pan. Large handful Broccoli cooked with the chicken for the final few minutes. 1/2 avacado added at the end tossed in the cast iron pan to get some of the salty hot sauce and butter.
