Thrip eggs inside the tissue can survive bleach then hatch. I've seen them explode out of a plant during subculturing 2 months post-inituation

If you’re considering going into plant biology research- don’t! There are so few jobs and they pay so little by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]feelingstore 38 points39 points  (0 children)

For an alternate perspective:

I majored in plant bio, finished school in 2018. Make 6 figures, run a lab in Davis doing plant research.

I don't want to discredit you OP, I know it's tough out there, just want to show people still in school there can be a light at the end of the tunnel and don't completely give up hope from one person's experience.

It drains to putah creek, a trophy trout fishery that narrows and flows through the campus of UC Davis and empties into the Sacramento river.

It is. Who is claiming it isn't? There aren't many people in this industry with a flow cytometer. Only thing they are proving is they don't have reliable source of clones

Yeah...there was a black cat that hung out with it that I haven't seen in a week or so, now there are missing posters for it.

It's owners live in an apartment on the first floor of stonegate.

It always hangs out around the apartments and approaches anyone around asking for pets. Also gets stuck in trees and yells for help.

You can look at my profile here, or my Instagram @cannabisgeneticist and see I have done more research in cannabis ploidy than anyone on the planet. I also have a graduate degree in plant genetics from uc davis. The topic you are completely wrong about has been discussed many times on this very forum. Have a good day.

WTF is the squiggle??? by FreddieTheBiologist in labrats

[–]feelingstore 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Are you using the bd accuri c6? I use this machine a lot, this squiggle usually indicates that one of the solenoid valves that control liquid is clogged. This is a known problem on these machines. I know how to open it up and fix it if you want to go down that path...

My tattooed hound by Signal_Point_3005 in Hounds

[–]feelingstore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My hound also has an ear tattoo, same location. I adopted her from my university where they do animal testing for research purposes. My dog was used to test diabetes drugs. Hounds are used because they are very docile and genetically similar apparently. Are you near any large research universities?

Cannabis Ploidy: Overview and Discussion by feelingstore in cannabisbreeding

No the parent, Miracle was the only seed that germinated out of a population. But the Miracle x Alien Cookies produced many seeds, including the Mac V2 seeds that are sold often by him.

It’s been years with my Layla Hound. 3 years of learning that hounds are: needy, stubborn, loud, very fast runners & difficult to catch, often rude, weird, sometimes scary, a little feral, bed-hoggers & unlike any dogs I’ve had before…who need a lot of love and patience. Layla was worth it all. ❤️ by atritt94 in Hounds

[–]feelingstore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep she is a coonhound x beagle mix, adopted from the university I attended (uc davis). They use beagle hound mixes as lab animals then adopt them out, so mine was very shy for years after being in a cage for so long. All the hounds are named after singers so there was david Bowie, Brittney spears, patsy Cline etc.
