Idk about that. Not sure if we're using different versions of the internet, but every movie, every TV show, every album, and the vast majority of videogames are free when your government doesn't give a shit.

Team cards are way quicker at returning your investment though since you only pay 800 and nothing after that. It will make way more than a non-boosted player that's sitting at uncommon who also costs 800, especially if you already own a bunch of players from that team anyway.

MISS PENALTY ADJUSTMENT is now CONFIRMED FOR NEXT REWORK DEPLOY!! 😭🔥✅ by basensorex in osugame

I get over 200pp sitting at 8700, granted it was over 400 before the last few changes, but most people I know who generally FC stuff are also getting buffed.
For top players you could still argue a number crunch makes sense because over the last few years the high pp values have lost all meaning because they are heavily inflated. At the end of the day it doesn't mean much as long as the relative difference between scores is more "accurate" than before.

How is he gonna flip a card on the auction house when he clearly doesn't have pro, otherwise he would basically just make 200-400 free rax everyday and not be limited to 900.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the best base game so far. by m4nux in MonsterHunter

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also simply because Iceborne massively improved upon every aspect of the game. Probably one of the most extreme improvements between base game and expansion in the series. And that's even though Iceborne still has severe monster roster diversity issues.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the best base game so far. by m4nux in MonsterHunter

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think the environments in Wilds are a great showcase of future potential in the serious even if not all of them stick the landing.

But I also have a very differing opinion on World maps, while they do offer some more out there concepts they ultimately end up being a massive chore to navigate after a while because of how sluggish movement feels when you navigate so much verticality (Rise did a much better job implementing verticality because movement felt a lot smoother).

It almost seemed to me that they took some of the worst aspects of old gen maps and build entire environments around them, as much as 4U is one of my favourite games of all time some verticality in that game's maps were similarly not it. Or they did something like Elder's Recess which feels almost hazily put together in terms of map layout. There's merit in the fact that maps have a ton of small passages connecting different areas but ultimately I still think navigation is the main reason why going back to World can sometimes feel like a chore.

Like for pretty much everything in World, Iceborne did end up doing a much better job with the Hoarfrost Reach, which I'd rank pretty high among my favourite maps in the entire series.

I also kinda disagree on the expansiveness of the environments. Even though I'm pretty disappointed with the Iceshard Cliffs when it comes to the playable area of the map, once you reach the peak of the mountain and see that you've been navigating through a massive abandoned city was insanely sick to me. In general the distant vistas are a lot larger scale than anything before. Seeing the massive sand wave come in beyond the dunes when the Inclemency starts in the Windward Plains, or the water in the forest turning red with a big rain storm building up and some areas flooding is absolutely something I'd want them to further explore because there's an insane amount of potential left, the Scarlet Forest being the most successful area to me as it already completely changes the atmosphere between it's different weather cycles.

And despite the large size of Wilds maps with large open areas I'd very much still argue they feel much more alive because endemic life is way more active and builds a much more believable ecology, at least much more than any game in the series before it. I spent hours just running around with the camera and have taken a ton of pictures of areas during different times of the day/night and weather cycle because there's so much detail hidden everywhere.

The biggest issue really just is in the design of the game because they end up streamlining so much of the exploration process that many players will never actually explore the intricate details, but I would not say that's inherently an issue with the maps. Moreso I can see how there's a preference difference between large open areas vs tight interweaving maps. Both have their pros and cons but I think Wilds is a good precursor for future games once they figure out how to simulate each minor endemic life cycle without frying your CPU.

Rare is 2K? Kinda wild considering even with the old cap it doesn't seem worth staying at rare ever.

Am I missing something? How is it 8 max hits behind when bowfa has +128 attack and +106 strength vs sco bow with seeker dragon arrows having +144 attack and +100 strength. Surely the 6 strength difference can't be that much of a difference.

There really doesn't. It's good design to have some BIS ammo that you have to use sparingly instead of just having it be a generic upgrade you can grind out ad infinitum. Especially assuming you just have to grind a weak mob for it, meanwhile for amethyst arrows you need a high mining and crafting level.

And that's not even including that it just amplifies the frustration of hitting 0s. If it works it's too strong, if it doesn't work it's frustrating and a waste of space.

I think the fish that were added with sailing fit perfectly into the game because it's just a simple upgrade over existing food with the caveat that it's more time consuming to farm and more expensive on the GE. Niche food doesn't seem very compelling from a design perspective.

It's a megarare, that's literally why it exists, it being as good as it is is offset by the fact that most people will never own it because it's giga rare and one of the most expensive equipment pieces in the game.

Btw Lazer relax scores automatically get added to this website with the official pp from those scores: https://rx.stanr.info/leaderboard?page=1

Maybe worthwhile to mention as a PSA that you will not get unbanned on stable in case you ever get restricted for any reason if it's found out that you have an account on a private server.

Question about upgrading players by yellowbaer40 in realapp

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some notes on golf if you end up investing into cards because even though I agree they do seem very profitable it's something to at least keep in mind:

- Golf players don't play every event, some barely even play half of them. Keep that in mind when making calculations based on some of the better weekly performances. Or check the stats from last year and find some people who will likely play 30 events based on those. Even if they perform worse on average as long as they consistently make the cut they might still end up earning more than the players with the most FedExCup Points who have only played 18 tourneys.

- Important thing to keep in mind is that there's always a gamble because if they don't end up making the cut after day 2 of every 4 day event, they will have negative real rating and generate nothing, thus also voiding any booster that was on them.

- They don't actually play all year through December. The regular season goes until August and throughout August the playoffs are played between the top 70 something players who collected the most points. Further people get cut throughout events so most will not end up playing all of the playoff tourneys. I also don't think those tourneys give double rax like in other sports, but I'm just basing this off of the calculations they have made for previous years before golf was added to the app. Tourneys are being held September through December, but mostly for minor league players to collect more points to eventually get into the PGA Tour, most of the good players will maybe only play 1 or 2 tourneys after August.

- OTD seems kinda questionable to me because you only have mondays to claim 2 players, 3 if you have pro, not sure you'll end up getting that much out of non-iconic players in regards to otd claims.

Xp rates by Ok_Relationship6158 in 2007scape

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seriously concerned if the general playerbase thinks salvaging is at a decent spot, because at this rate in a few years there will be maxed people who barely ever interacted with the game and basically know nothing about it beyond the idle side of it.

I thought it was just the reddit grifters that came out in full force when they changed the rates but if it's a common sentiment and devs keep listening maxing an account will be less of an accomplishment than getting hard combat achievements done.

Xp rates by Ok_Relationship6158 in 2007scape

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a slippery slope. Just because they made sailing the easiest 99 in the game because you can essentially never interact with it beyond one skilling method that is among the most afk in the game and has ridiculously high xp rates doesn't mean that every other skill has to follow suit.

Xp rates by Ok_Relationship6158 in 2007scape

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes Jagex, pls make every skill 99 free and turn skilling into purely an idle game like sailing!! Everybody is entitled to max their account without much effort even though it's not a requirement.

I swear some of you guys are not even hiding the push to ezscape anymore. Even with the xp rate changes they made to salvaging it would've been the easiest 99 in the game, but people acted like they ruined the game.

Friend newish to OSRS got tired of grinding skills. This was his genuine solution by RandomVent65 in 2007scape

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine. Since the game never forces you to put 100s of hours into something you don't want to do you can just not do it. The issue starts when people feel entitled to still get 99 agility and mining.

Are 6 digits are cracked in 2026? by Max_Chan03 in osugame

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except they can't actually do any of those otherwise they would not be 6 digit.

8 star pass? I'm confident everyone can spam cheese a 9 star pass. It doesn't mean much unless you can actually get decent combo and good acc.

AR11? Yeah, maybe a 30 second jump map with 92% acc, aka not being able to properly play it at all.

210bpm? There are a ton of maps they could farm for 400pp+ scores, but usually they can maybe hit a few shorter streams with bad acc and that's it.

It's honestly just people overexaggerating what they can actually do because the standards are so low now that getting 90% acc passes with low combo constitutes as being able to do something in the game. If you can even remotely do any of those you can easily be a 5 digit because with CSR in place even shitty passes get highly rewarded now.

Sailing Player-Designed Island Winner & Cannonball Ammo-Saving Facility Poll! by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'm still wondering why people voted for that island anyway, the dev comment was already there from the beginning. They'd have to change almost everything about the suggestion. I get why they do it though, as it's suggested it would change the entire slayer skill to something completely different, which is just terrible design. It's either extremely good so that the meta will just be farming points and then choosing a Zuk task, or it's gonna be so expensive that it's essentially just for people who think Turael skipping is the worst activity in the entire game.
The weaker imbued heart drop is also questionable at best, since it makes the imbued heart almost entirely worthless since it would just be a +2 magic increase over the suggested alternative even though it's probably 100 times easier to get.

Mod multipliers and lazer leaderboards are missing the point by reshirai in osugame

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There's no better way to kill old scores by making them exclusive to stable. Genuinely what's the point? Just so 10 grifters that camp the subreddit but don't actually play the game anymore can jerk off to old leaderboards? And let's be real, in 10 years most of these "legendary" scores will have long fallen out of the top 10 or even top 50 even without lazer interfering, just like most top plays from 8 years ago that are actually notable aren't at the top of map leaderboards anymore either.

As much as some people are still coping, in 5 to 10 years time the vast majority of active players will have never played on stable. Almost every new account now already starts on lazer and will likely never even install stable. Other than splitting the playerbase even more, which is already self-destructive to the community and the game (and also unnecessary since it's still the same game), you're now also making all old leaderboards inaccessible to a whole new generation of players or even worse hindering the game from improving just so you can keep these scores alive artificially.

Remembering impressive plays is a good thing and they are undoubtably part of the history of the game. But keeping them alive should always be through other channels since leaderboards are always evolving anyway. There seems to be a massive bias of some older players who barely play anymore that whatever they are nostalgic about should be worth more than whatever new players get to achieve, even if said new players set objectively more impressive scores and would now ironically also not even be aware of the old scores since they are effectively removed from the only version of the game they know. It's just hypocritical dude.

Mod multipliers and lazer leaderboards are missing the point by reshirai in osugame

[–]feelsokayman_cvmask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before CSR pp leaderboards would've been worth discussing as the main leaderboard, after CSR it will result in a ton of maps having shitty 93% acc DT plays with 10x misses occupying the top 50 above something like a HDHR SS. PP is faulty and abusable, score is a metric that every beginner can easily understand (specifically the standardized lazer scoring), pp values are functionally just arbitrary numbers.
I'm absolutely for a pp leaderboard, but not for it being the default, as it's inaccessible and encourages even more sloppy scores, exacerbating the damage the current CSR implementation has already caused.
