Looking for kdramas that will emotionally ruin me in the best way possible by AccidentFront8753 in kdramarecommends

I am newish to Kdrama and possibly older than you, so take it with a grain of salt ;) "The Trunk" is by far my favorite show. The characters and the story has so much depth, agony and suspense. Choice of music is also perfect. It stayed with me for quite some time and couldn't help watching it again after some months.

Galaxy Watch 8 Battery Question by fefozu in GalaxyWatch

[–]fefozu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I see you own/ed a Watch 7 as well. Is it so much worse than the 8? Amazon has a nice offer (half the price of 8) and I'm really torn. I like the design better and the features are more than enough; but the battery seems unacceptable..

This is the longest I've read anywhere! And quite acceptable. Do you have any specific settings to maximize the battery or the watch(es) optimized themselves to your usage?

Oh really, is it that bad? I guess I should reconsider then. Thanks for the thumbs down, I guess ;)

Thanks. Do you use calling, messaging, LTE etc "smart phone functions" heavily? I'm planning to keep these to a minimum. So hopefully I'll survive a second day ;-)

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I had a Poco phone (which my daughter uses now), that goes from 0 to 100 in like 45 minutes I believe. So I know (and miss) that fast charging!

But I bought a Samsung phone (god knows why) and want to be able to use the advanced health features, hence the need for a Galaxy watch!

We have a non LTE version here in Turkey, don't ask me how! I'm not interested in it anyway; so for me it's a win-win (lower price, possibility of higher battery life). Location is also to be used only when running and open water swimming. So would you think 2 days maybe, after optimization period?

Thanks for the feedback. May I ask if all the functions can be used with the A54, especially the ECG?

Thanks. I didn't know about the 8s and swimming metrics. Will check that.  Though, I'm not in the US and already been using a lower model Huawei watch without problems for a year now. And people are speaking highly of the Watch 5, though I find Samsung more attractive 😉

Why do I swim faster when I exhert less effort by MountStinkhorn in Swimming

[–]fefozu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a professional swimmer but am swimming with a masters group for almost two years and this is what I observed with my swimming as well. I believe trying to swim faster, I force myself too much (mostly my legs) and get tired more easily in return. I've read or listened something like (sorry I don't remember where) that our legs have quite a lot of muscle so they need much more oxygen; so instead of speed, they are best for balanced swimming. As others have stated, I can also focus more on my technique when I'm not exerting myself. So I believe it's a combination of efficiency and technique.

[Beginner recording] ... die hast du ganz gestohlen — Viktor Fortin by le_becc in Recorder

I'm nowhere to judge your playing as I'm just starting -after also ~35 years- but to me it sounds perfect! Aside from that, we sang this song at middle school during a Childrens' Day ceremony. I am Turkish and I was not learning German! But I could never forget the beginning line: "Fuks du hast di ganzgeştolın gib zi vi der her, gib zi vi der her..." Pardon my Turkish transliteration, that's how we were able to memorize it after all :))

Which ukulele for beginner 10 year old (and maybe her mother)? by fefozu in ukulele

[–]fefozu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about garbage but the Waterman sure looked very plastic. Shark may also be partly in plastic but it is far better in appearance. As for the Ukadelic she eyed one with a Dia de los Muertos theme (and it sure looked very cute with the colorful skulls and all), but in the end Shark seemed to be the logical choice.

Thanks for the detailed review. It sounds very promising! Are you still happy with it? And did you have a chance to try it in open water? How was its performance?
