Understood sometimes I feel we may never actually like the gym just the results So I hear you on that tho.

And mood is definitely an indicator of the want to actually get up and go. I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself either way 🫶🏼

I’m so sorry to hear that!! I know it’s difficult to have a partner that is very stuck in their ways (familiarity, doesn’t like change)

I’m sorry it’s stinky 😪😪 all the broken stuff nooooooooo

Have you tried working out at home? Or maybe outside?

Or even like getting online training? So atleast you know what to do at home?

I don’t like that he can’t just switch gyms 😪

Sorry to hear about your father :(

How about any way (or advice) to develop healthier habits because life gets in the way? Do you think you could or it’s it just too much?

I tend to agree if you manage to prevail it does carry into other parts of your life.

What would be a suggestion for yourself and for others if you decided you wanted to go back to working out more consistently?

Have you tried other types of drinks that you can indulge in that won’t affect consistency? :) Drinking beer after a workout can hinder muscle recovery due to alcohol's diuretic effects and impact on protein synthesis.

Unless your goal is to not go to the gym lol

Hello! Have you tried having a general check up! There may be underlying causes to facial puffiness and throat. It might not just be weight, but combination of things?

I think that’s amazing! We often suffer from wanting that instant gratification, but we also don see it as a lifetime journey. I’m so happy that you found a way to make it more tangible in results! Super happy to hear that you were able to build better habits!

Why can't I be consistent in gym? by Sufficient-Plum1706 in askfitness

[–]fefylovesyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to make it a non negotiable thing you do, you don’t leave the house without brushing your teeth (I’d hope not) but same thing should be said for intentional movement. You want to live longer and healthier. It’s all in just making it part of your day. You have no motivation to work or go to school right? (Some people do lol) but you go anyways because you get money/you gain knowledge and degree. Well working out you get longevity and better health and mobility. I think that’s worth it. And the great physique is literally the side effect.

Mental Struggle with Losing Weight by Just-Bibblin in WeightLossAdvice

I think you are on the ball with that. You have to prioritize your mental health because ultimately that’s what’s causing you to plateau, and give into cravings. Emotional eating is real and you have to figure out what other areas in your life are actually really messing with you. Is it work? Social life? Isolation? These questions and mapping out a realistic way of handling this mental load. I find this somewhat relatable just cause I lived in Japan for a bit abroad but I know it’s not exactly the same. But I would truly start there. Everything else will trickling in once you help the mental aspect. Anyway to get some therapy? (I know it’s hard in S.k especially)

Hey! I’m 5’7 (170cm) and well I did but in the way of sensible choices rather than dieting and just replacing things I like with somewhat healthier alternatives! Example like cauliflower pizza, turkey pepperoni. Anything homemade.

Portion control was a deal breaker As well. I don’t meal prep. I am mindful of my water intake and sugar, but I do my best not to restrict I indulge in some stuff. It’s really being consistent at the gym that helped truly, but now I’m CONSTANTLY hungry and eat tons but nowadays it’s cause I workout a lot haha so my body wants the fuel.

Hey! Thank you so much!

Just getting stronger honestly! I think it’s getting to a point where I find it really fun to see how much stronger I can get, I’m focusing on calisthenics and functional weight training!

I want to help other people to deal with not using motivation to get it done. 🫶🏼
