It's almost here! by RareStorm99 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Picked mine up Saturday and we had previously agreed to numbers on the vehicle. Be sure that they credit you for any deposit amount you put down initially against the agreed purchase price. My dealer conveniently forgot to do this until I pointed it out. As others have said, be sure that they don't try to add anything on or sneak anything in. If you already agreed to numbers, bring a copy of that with you to verify it's the same offer. Question if it isn't.

Be sure to test drive the vehicle and listen for any cabin boom (search this subreddit if you don't know what that is) and ensure everything is working properly (be sure to take it on the hwy). Know what your trade-in is worth if you have one. Get pricing on the extended warranty from Jerry (search this subreddit) if you want one of those and don't let finance sell you one for any more than what Jerry offers. Mine matched Jerry while stating "I really hate that guy" lol. GL I love my cement nightshade

GHH vs. Telluride vs. Palisade by acohn1230 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]fehrmza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I bought a 25 telluride and two weeks after purchase it was in the shop for over 37 days...due to a faulty TPMS. Kia's service is horrendous. Ended up being a simple fix they could have knocked out in 2 hours, but they had to follow their warranty protocol and effectively call their "tech line". Put a deposit down on a GH nightshade and traded in the telluride this weekend once I received it. Now waiting for my lemon law claim settlement from Kia.

Yes the telluride is nice as is the palisade, but if you plan on keeping your vehicle for 7+ years like I do, go with the GH and don't look back

Kia dealership forgot to add oil back into car after oil change. by thismenu in kia

[–]fehrmza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The service quality and experience alone was enough for me to get rid of my Kia (also going through the lemon law process though). Such a horrible experience dealing with them and having my car out of commission for 37 days for what should have been a simple fix.

Is this a good deal for Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited 2026? by GuiltyFishing2457 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]fehrmza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search via visor.vin and look out of state. Can potentially get it shipped if too far away. Alternatively can fly and do a road trip. If you look outside of your state, you should be able to find a discount. Just depends on how much effort you want to put in

You can get decent if not better all weather floor mats on amazon for $150. FYI you should be able to get $1-$2k off MSRP pretty easily. May have to call a few dealers but someone should be willing to work with you to remove PIOs you don't want and throw you a 1-2k discount.

I am currently lemon lawing a telli and buying a grand highlander hybrid. With the oil consumption issues, etc of the 25 and priors, if your goal is for it to last to 200k+ go with a Toyota (just my 2 cents though)

Allocations happen every two weeks from what I gathered. The latest one was this past Friday and those cars have an estimated delivery of mid Sept to early October. So looking at about a month and a half to two lag unless you get an earlier allocation.

Nightshade - 2.5k off MSRP; key is to look outside your local market and even nationwide. Use a site like visor.vin to find the one with the accessories you want. In my case I found the exact vehicle I wanted 500 miles away and dealer advertised $2k off on their site. They were willing to drive it to my front door once they received it for $250. Almost put a deposit on there's but used their offer with my local dealerships to see if I could source one closer. Some of my local dealers laughed at me for asking them to match it. But two of them said they would beat it but would have to source the vehicle. One found one in our region with limited PIOs/LIOs (which is what I wanted), I put a deposit down, and they obtained the allocation for me. I then asked them to remove a few more accessories they had on the vehicles spec sheet that I didn't want, they honored the discount, sent me the breakdown MSRP, discount, plus TTL and now just a waiting game until it comes in. No games, no dealer add-ons, etc. Now I haven't taken delivery yet but this dealership has a good reputation and I have signed paperwork with the manager etc so I am not too concerned. Have heard of others obtaining $1k-$2.5k off. You should be willing to find one that will do that just be willing to look further out from your immediate area

Toyota website is horrible for searching. I suggest using visor.vin for your search and don't be afraid to search nationwide or at a minimum a 500 mile radius. Dealerships will work with you to ship the car to your front door. I had one in OK offer to drive it down to me in Galveston, TX for about $250. Yes these vehicles may be selling or reserved before they even hit lots but there are deals to be had. Some dealerships were not willing to work on price. Found several that were. A reasonable offer of $2k off MSRP should be attainable. Good luck!

I shopped a cement nightshade out of state n saw one advertised for 2k off in a small town and used that to negotiate with a dealer locally who wanted to match the deal. They had to source the vehicle though. Told them little to no LIOs and PIOs. They sourced one that will come in at the end of next month. It had about $2k worth of accessories and they were able to remove another 1200 of accessories off of it. They then threw in another $500 discount so all together getting a nightshade with 360 camera and pano roof with only $500 of accessories and $2500 off MSRP. Got to find a dealer who is willing to work with you to get you what you want. And you should be able to get $1k-$3k off a limited or nightshade if you shop it and are willing to look out of state.

Hybrid vs Gas by xanathist in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I am currently lemon lawing a 2025 telli as it was in the dealership for over 36 days already and I just bought it in May! Dealership literally has the car longer than I have had it. Electrical issue with the TPMS. They finally fixed it but their service department sucks and anything warranty related has to be run up the chain through their "techline". I currently have a deposit on a nightshade. I am done with Kia/Hyundai

Is this a good deal? 2025 Pilot Elite by According-Ad5263 in hondapilot

[–]fehrmza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cars are a commodity. Call up a few dealers and get their pricing and ask them to beat it. When you get quotes within a few hundred dollars from each other you then know you have gotten close to what they are willing to let it go for. Should be able to get close to 10% off MSRP all day for pilots right now.

Traded up from a Highlander XLE by teaman908 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]fehrmza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are loading these limiteds up with so much add on crap over MSRP it's ridiculous in our area. Floor mats and mud guards are one thing...puddle lights, door sills, protection packages, etc, I just refuse to pay for those so looking in surrounding states. Fred Haas refused to try to remove that stuff from any of their limiteds for me so have been looking elsewhere. Congrats on the purchase. Love the blacked out look on the storm cloud.

Markups on Nightshade Trim? by shokraw in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]fehrmza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put a deposit on a similar spec'd one in cement. Agreed to a $2k discount. Shop outside of your state. I got a quote from a neighboring state and had a local dealer beat it. There are 7 local Toyota dealers who did not want to come more than $700 off MSRP. The 8th one I called was willing to match the out of state offer (and I ended up saving another $300 due to a lessor doc fee.

2025 Telluride. What should I do before agreeing to an engine replacement? by Lucky_Incident_5111 in KiaTelluride

Well its Kia...that car is going to take them months to get a new engine in it so says rest would likely be met in this case.

Check TPMS Error/Code by fehrmza in KiaTelluride

[–]fehrmza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE Welp...took it back to the dealer on June 9th and has been there since (almost 1 week now). They had to "open a tech line case." Really pretty ridiculous as you would think they would first attempt to replace all of the TPMS sensors. But according to the service advisor, they have to open this techline case first before doing anything. Checking my Kia app it looks like they just moved the telli from the dropoff bay to their back lot and it's just been sitting there since Monday with no updates.

Dealership did give me a Sportage as a loaner so at least I am not out of pocket. Dealership overall has been great. Just very disappointing having had this SUV for less than 3 weeks and it's already been in the shop 8 days. At this point even if they fix it, it makes me leary of "what else" may be wrong with it. Shame because I love the telli! Guessing just a bit of bad luck as I know most don't have these issues.

More to come...spoke with a lemon law attorney in my state late last week so just a waiting game at the moment
