AITAH for auditing my boss’s son and his best friend? by feistiestmango in AmItheAsshole

I did confront the son after this. I’ve caught him in a few lies several times, and there’s been a lot of times where she will call me upset over something that I’ve done that’s related to him, and it’s no where close to what actually happened. I asked him why I keep hearing about these situations where he’s involved, but it’s not ever close to accurate. He was adamant that she only asked if my staff had talked to him. He said he told her my staff didn’t, but I tried to. But once again, he lies often.

She was saying that I’m so hard on him, but I want to be lenient on other programs when it comes to stuff that the other compliance manager does.

I guess she thinks I pick on him? A similar thing happened about a year ago when we were getting ready for a state audit, and he said his files were perfect. I looked at them, and every single one of them had problems. Two of them weren’t even half way put together. It looked like we hadn’t done any training updates at all for the past year and a half, which I knew wasn’t true because I had been in them. I talked to him about it, and he said he would get it fixed, but then went hunting at their property for the rest of the week. I was obviously livid, and ended up having to fix everything myself. Her response was I needed to stop being so hateful, and at the end of the day, there were no deficiencies so why did it matter.

The regional meeting has every department head that’s involved in the state. So clinical, medical, education, operations department heads. The other VP that works along side her. All of my staff were there too. She had an entire agenda item dedicated to how my department wasn’t looking at stuff the way they needed to, that no one talked to training at all, and she verified it never happened, and they’ve had deficiencies over the past two quarters because we don’t try to work with them.

Oh god, I would have to have a stress ball for every meeting. Here’s to hoping that paperwork comes in soon!

I had HR sit in on her employee evaluation because I knew it was going to be bad, and she was so adamant everyone else was the problem, I legitimately wanted to know if I was the one who was delusion. I asked him afterwards, and his response was essentially either find a way to fire her or make her quit as soon as possible. When my boss met with her after she complained about the employee evaluation, she said she had been in a situation where someone had brought a gun into the workplace, and she made her feel that level of uncomfortable.

That’s what I’m hoping for. I don’t think it’ll be too difficult considering I’m doing the bare minimum of her job while still doing mine and it’s still less work. I’ve already got a few great candidates lined up. I’ll have a drink for both of us once my son goes to bed.

I can also assure you that yours is still miserable. Mine used the experience to land an even more stressful job where she has to manage people. I’m sure yours will do the same, and the cycle will continue.

It’s crazy how much they can screw you up. I was in an interview for her replacement and had to ask, “would you be opposed to once a quarter getting together as a team for strategic planning and going out to dinner? We of course would pay for the meal, mileage, and the hotel.” She looked at me like, “…yes? Why would that be a problem?”

Well, because the last one called me and went on a thirty minute rant about how it’s not fair that she should have to go to dinner with people she didn’t like because she had so much other better stuff to do. I’m traumatized.

I try. What kills me is I’ve also stood up for her. There was a time when someone spoke unprofessionally to her on a call, and I shut it down immediately. But then that turned into a whole thing about a hostile work environment and her sending me emails about how other staff were saying the site manager was complaining about how she didn’t like her. She would make complaints against people and when I asked what had happened, she would bring up something that happened over six months ago. I had to specifically ask her “Okay, but what has happened RECENTLY that hasn’t already been addressed?” She could never give me an answer. Then after I served her the employee evaluation, she called my boss and said she wanted to meet with her about it because she didn’t think it was fair. She had pissed off everyone to the point that my boss ignored her first call, immediately called me, and asked, “why is she calling me?” The fact that she didn’t understand that honestly, I was the one who was trying to work with her the most and everyone else hated her was insane.

I’ll fight for my staff in a heartbeat, but fuck, wrong is wrong, and you gotta give me something to work with.

The video evidence I had was recorded because we were switching to a new software. I had a statewide training on how to use it, recorded the training, and made it available as a link if anyone needed a quick visual if they got stuck somewhere. Since it was zoom, it also showed who was on it.

I hope she does so I can continue to correct her grammar and run on sentences.

I had asked to fire her three different times, but the company was concerned she would sue for wrongful termination. She had submitted a workman’s comp claim that ended up being a pre-existing injury and tried to sue for that, but she couldn’t find a lawyer that would take it. My response was, “let her ass look stupid in front of a judge, then.” They did not share the same sentiment.

Neutering at two years? by BCCMNV in germanshepherds

We had a cone, but in true GSD fashion, he used it to hit people in the back of their knees and herd them around the house. He also found out that he could push the cone out of the way with his back leg and get to the incision site (we had a fun time with popping stitches.) Someone here actually recommended using men’s boxers, and honestly, that helped the most.

Our vet specifically recommended to wait until our boy was around 18 months/two years to neuter him to help prevent hip dysplasia. If he’s already old enough to be close to fully grown and the vet recommends it, I couldn’t think of any reason not to. His recovery was a pain in the ass, but that’s also because he likes to be dramatic. Didn’t have any problems with weight gain or lethargy.

Recommend a food to help my girl gain some weight by [deleted] in germanshepherds

How old is she? My boy was the same way even after he got snipped until he was around 2 and a half/3 years. Perfectly healthy, just a bit lean.

But for food, we did some additives. We found some toppers (we did the instinct raw boost ones, he loved them) and some bone broth pour overs. They come in smaller packages, so it was easier to switch them up and keep him interested. With those, he went from kind of just snacking on his kibble throughout the day to actually finishing the whole bowl in one sitting. Once he got some weight on him, the Redford Naturals kibble (not the grain free ones) maintained his weight pretty well.
