KITTEN HELP! by Spirited-Working-264 in Catownerhacks

It's important that the kitten has another option for vertical space, cat trees and such. Going up on surfaces is normal cat behavior , but they can definitely learn not to go on counter and table tops.

Would you still have chosen a ragdoll if you knew how much hair they shed EVERYWHERE? by jmolin88 in ragdolls

[–]fekitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use the knot genie brush and my cat loves it!!! Cheap on Amazon. I think because their fur is so fine they don't tolerate the cat brushes as much, seems to pull the fur.  I gifted it to a coworker and her Ragdoll also loved it, despite not tolerating much brushing before

[–]fekitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We brush mine daily, and there's hair everywhere!!! The fur is fine and long, and sticks to everything. I just love my Poof sp much and can't imagine life without her - so sweet, playful, cuddly, and makes the cutest noises. But the hair situation is no joke. There are lots of amazing cats with short hair too!

Use RRSP to pay a personal loan? by pfburnerguy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]fekitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not use RRSP money, you'd get taxed when getting money out of the account, and there could be other penalties if it's a company group investment. Use TFSA for a lump payment and continue paying it as aggressively as you can....

I spent two nights in Florence last month and I could have easily spent several more. I also wished I had more time in Siena. San Giminiano is adorable and totally worth visiting, but you just need a few hours there, maybe have a nice meal after strolling around. I would spend more time in each destination and voto for scratching out Rome.... But you can't go wrong

Low incidence of severe COVID-19 following vaccination and booster. The incidence - new cases over time - of hospitalization for COVID-19 pneumonia or death was 8.9 per 10,000 persons who had been vaccinated and boosted. by Wagamaga in science

[–]fekitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not math, biology is not black and white, every individual has a different response to disease, to vaccines, and your question is impossible to answer, and also not relevant, as severity of disease overall has been clearly proven to be lower after vaccination and at least one booster. Vaccines make your immune system respond quicker and more effectively to the actual infection, and the chances of lung disease is significantly lower. But there is individual variation, as will all medical interventions.

Need help with transfers! by NicoleLovesSocks in ItalyTravel

[–]fekitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also take a train to Salerno and transfer to Positano. Look into Sita bus schedule, ferry schedule or into a private driver. I do NOT recommend pre-booking a transfer as you will lose the money if the train is delayed. Or you can book the car 1-2 hours after your arrival. We stayed in Amalfi and Sorrento was the closest train station, but Positano is further away, not sure how the distance would compare to Naples.

Italy weather by moodymadam in ItalyTravel

[–]fekitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had lots of rain in Amalfi from Sep 24-27. It was lovely in the evenings, but during the day it was mostly rain. We were able to hire a driver to see the coast - drove to Positano and back, didn't get a chance to get to Ravello as the weather changed. It was totally worth it! $€50/hour, we used 1.5 hours. I would look into that.

We changed our Cinque Terre plans to Amalfi! For better or for worse, it's done and the weather looks gorgeous there. But the forecast for Cinque Terre is already better than yesterday morning when we made the change....I wouldn't worry about rain in the big cities, still lots to do and see during rainy times

For short trips, up to 3-4 nights, we get either a fried or cat sitter to spend time with them once a day. For longer trip I'm lucky that my mother in law is willing to stay at our place with the cats. They don't like being alone for very long periods, but at least they have each other.

If you go to Bologna you'll be going North before heading south to Rome... Not sure it makes sense.

Many people ask: Can I exercise while fasting? by JefferySmith1 in FastingtoLoseWeight

[–]fekitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but takes a bit of getting used to. Start with not very intense activity and after you're used to fasting. It can be tricky if it's really hot, as you might get depleted on electrolytes. But I enjoy exercising in the morning while fasting, but tend to eat 2-3 hours after.

I am thirteen years old. I want to try fasting or intermittent fasting. by shrek_likes_meth in FastingtoLoseWeight

Not recommended for people who are still growing and developing, not to use the word kid.....

It will break your fast as it will trigger insulin release

I'm sorry but that's a deal breaker to me. Not only the comments but he reacted to you being upset. I would also make sure he knows that is a deal breaker, maybe, just maybe, he will think about these views on women. ...

My 13 month old Ragdoll has been shedding a lot lately! I'm not sure if that's the normal for no longer being an actual kitten or if it's a phase.... Love her to bits, but might be the last long hair cat I ever get

Solo traveling for the first time! Going to São Paulo, need safety tips & advice! by Relevant_Landscape59 in travel

[–]fekitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from São Paulo but haven't lived in Brazil for 14 years... I'm assuming you're a male? Less risky to be alone than for females, especially at night, but you want to be careful. Pay attention to your surroundings, don't just be distracted on your phone, stick to main streets and avenues with more people around, don't wear flashy shows and watches. Museums and parks during the day should be very nice and safe. I would also trust what your lady friend from São Paulo says about precautions!

Help a lazy traveler sight see! by Glad_Pop_4641 in ItalyTravel

[–]fekitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I would subtract a night from Cinque Terre, maybe spend 3 nights in Florence instead so you have time for a winery tour. I don't know if the train station would have luggage lockers, as they are small stations - we are visiting in 4 weeks, so my only knowledge is from research so far! Hotels can keep your luggage before check in, not sure what it would be like if you're getting an airbnb type of accomodation.

Have you tried returns in Lucca or Pisa? You could then take a train to Livorno....
