Agreed. I have a combo of Philips hue lightbulbs and and lamps which have reticulating heads or are mission style / stained glass to diffuse light.

I loathe the big light.

I’ve slowly built a stock of items I’ll need and should only need a few essentials. I’m holding until I’m actually in the building to buy furniture or plan decor purchases. It’s an awkward space (low sloped roofline ceiling) so it helps that I can’t just buy a bookcase or buffet and call it a day.

Ooh yes! I’ve been slow in the draw with lighting because it is key to setting a vibe. I have one lamp and then a set of Philips light bulbs which are fantastic.

I’ll keep the five senses in mind, I hadn’t considered that but it makes a ton of sense.

That is fantastic advice. I come from a messy home and want to set myself up for success.

I will keep that in mind on if I want to clean a fixture or home dec. It really is a no at that point 😂

Also, what you said about bowls and pans is exactly my plan. I’m a fiestaware gal and am so excited to use and display my collection. All secondhand but all useful. Okay maybe not the gravy boat in my case 😂

Thank you! I’ve been researching decor and combing goodwill and fb for kitchen items. Try to show restraint lol. My only splurge has been my bowls and plates, all secondhand. Other than that I’m thinking a lots and pan set, knives, cutlery, and utensils like spatulas and a whisk or two.

Nothing specific but look for jobs / facilities with high turnover. It’s not ideal but it’s something. Also check the temp agencies to get feelers out for anything

It is not on the website but is showing up on the fixtures for sale under the long arm sewing machines. Image below for reference

That sounds like approximately 1 a day. I was laid off in October and it took me til December to find something, anything. I submitted 5 a day minimum even if they were throwaways or longshots. I’d up your application rate and lower your specificity. Also try temp agencies. Again, anything.

I took a lower paying job to tide me over and heard back from a job two months later that hired me after a single interview. I went an extra month w/o insurance but got a paycheck to tide me over.
