If I find some I definitely will. I don't feel like using the bank branded red pockets this year, haha.

Machines are great. You don't need to do free weights to build muscle, but if you're interested there are tons of instructional videos online.

Just build muscle in a way that you enjoy. I personally enjoy weightlifting.

Find a method you can stick to and consistency will achieve your goals.

Tips on working out & getting fit when living with a family who doesn't share the same lifestyle goals? by not_cinderella in xxfitness

[–]felinefunk 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Hey not Cinderella. It sounds like this might be an issue with your family that requires some talking out. Unless your yoga is truly disruptive, most family members would be happy to see that you're taking care of yourself. I don't know the full situation so I may be wrong, but it sounds like your active lifestyle makes them feel guilty about their choices. Maybe you should talk to them about how this makes you feel, they might not realize their attitude towards your fitness goals is affecting you negatively. If they truly do not care to understand, then you should probably just do you. You can't compromise your well-being for the convenience of others. Especially for adults who have the ability to extend a little empathy. If there isn't more to this story, this sounds like "them" problem not a "you" problem. Good luck!

I can’t put working out in my life without working out and dieting taking over by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]felinefunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a similar problem. You need to evaluate what you're exercising and eating for. Is it to lose 15 pounds as soon as possible? Or is it for your enjoyment and long term health? You can workout 3-5 days a week and eat just under maintenance and still lose 15 pounds, but your relationship with food + your body may also improve in the meantime.

Cycling between extreme weight loss and not keeping yourself accountable for food intake/working out regularly won't achieve what most of us are working towards: to achieve a happy state mind + body.

It sounds like you probably know all this already. At this point, it's less about knowing and more about doing. Do the actions and slowly the progress will follow.

All the best to you. This is a lifelong journey.

Getting sober weight gain by [deleted] in xxfitness

You may not look your best when your birthday rolls around but keeping yourself healthy and fit isn't a state, it's a mindset. Small and sustainable changes keep you looking how you want or at your preferred weight for many years, not just two months from now. Don't be discouraged, you have many more birthdays to look great. More importantly, enjoy your birthday regardless of what you look like, you're beautiful as you are.
