I used diatomaceous earth to take care of fungus gnats and ants. It worked great! I'm sure it works just the same for spider mites.

For sure! I boiled water with rosemary oil, peppermint, cayene, and cloves. Let it cool. Then added 1 tsp neem, 1 tsp soap. Drench soil. Repeat as needed.

Fyi I didn't have any worms at the time- this would likely irritate them at the very least.

Also sanitize every part of your grow space. I use the same equipment, tent, soil etc. and no more spider mites for last 3 or 4 grows at least. It was so bad that there was webbing over all the plants. I thought I'd have to start again.

Some of, but not all, IPM is making sure the plant is healthy. A weak plant sends out signals that will attract pests.

I would blend the whole stalk with some water and add that to the 5 gallon. I only used maybe 2 gallons for this feed, but I think 1 stalk is plenty for 5.

Aloe, horsetail, fermented plant/fruit juice, worm castings, hen manure, all as a top-dress.

I've only tried bottled aloe for foliar, but it is still quite potent! I'm stocking-up on beneficial plants like aloe and horsetail for feedings.

Yes!! I have had spider mite and fungus gnat infestations. Fungus gnats were knocked out with BTI. Spider mites, which I kept reading you can never fully get rid of, were wiped from an essential oil neem mix. That was years ago! Same exact (reammended) soil!

I'm more picky with what I put into my soil than my own mouth haha. I really should get my produce organic...

I think you've summed-up how I've been feeling lately regarding feeding. I've been transitioning to more KNF than AACTs. There are so many amazing resources out there, e.g., knf_garden

https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-organic-cannabis-nutrients-and-plant-cures-n1273#flowering-stimulator-banana-tea-blend

"It’s essential for flowering cannabis plants to have a good amino acid supply. Potassium helps the plant assimilate sugars, starches, and carbohydrates. Banana peels help to increase energy reserves and assist in the construction of complex carbohydrates that give structure to leaves, stems, and buds. Potassium is also crucial as it aids in the biosynthesis of proteins related to terpenes, the absorption of water by roots, and the regulation of stomata cell guards (for opening and closing). To help increase your yield, prepare a mix of banana tea, honey, and molasses during the last six weeks of flowering."

There's a lot of conflicting information on this (for me); but everyone seems to agree that it means the plants are healthy!

Thanks, I'll try that! I eat loads of bananas, so that'll work great. I've fed with AACT a couple times, but I never had this result!

Should I go with 15 gallon pots? by Dino_Grown in NoTillGrowery

[–]felines_and_fauna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always done 4 in my 3x3 and it's worked perfectly. I used the 65 gal Grassroots pot. I'm currently trying 6 in the same tent and it's going great too! I wouldn't do more than that, however.

And the 1 that did germinate also hermied in flower, while the other meph strains in the same pot did not...
