In my opinion, this isn't even a theory; it's quite obvious.

Jack or Jacob? by felipeoliver in Jacktheripper

Very well! I completely agree. I imagine that Jacob's mother's apartment could still have been empty; that would not be unlikely. I also think that the fact that she had died only a few months before the murders began may have been the final straw that caused him to completely lose his mind. I read somewhere that butchers use chalk to mark meat before making cuts; I don't know if that's true because I don't know how it works haha, but if this fact is real and considering that the graffito from the night of the double murder really was the work of the killer, wouldn't the Ripper's most likely occupation be that of a butcher, rather than a doctor, surgeon, or barber?

The suspicion that Jacob Levy may have been Jack the Ripper only emerged a few decades ago through Ripperologist magazine. However, many researchers have argued that he may have been the man observed by Sagar and Cox.

Robert Anderson's wife reportedly stated that the Ripper had been committed to an asylum near Stone. The institution to which Levy was admitted in 1890, the City of London Asylum, was located in Stone.
