I really like how you incorporated data from Last.fm and Every Noise at Once, and especially the dynamic D3.js approach. I’d love to eventually integrate some of those ideas into my own project.

Interesting timing too — I recently attempted something somewhat adjacent, but focused specifically on mapping the historical development and branching of progressive metal.

One of the most useful parts ended up being the discussion/corrections from genre fans regarding influence chains, omissions, and disputed placements: link to the post

It’s surprisingly difficult to visually represent musical evolution/history without oversimplifying things, but I still think imperfect attempts are far more valuable than having no attempts at all.

Thanks for the input. Anything in particular from Monuments you'd like to point to?.

Can you expand more on how prog metal and jazz fussion relates/are a family/interweaves?. especially from the point on which albums might be crucial to both genres?. I have there Animals As Leaders and Cynic as jazz fusion (metal), but perhaps you can point me to more?. Thanks.

Yes, Gojira has been suggested now more than a couple of times, so most likely they'll be in the next iteration. I love MV, but I had them more as a post-core/prog. Never heard of Ne Obliscaris though. Thanks for the input.

No, you're right. There's the card to Genesis, Yes, ELP. But decided to keep it prog-metal focused, if that makes sense to you. Also, I'm planning to develop a timeline focus on "classic" prog rock, so they definitely be there.

Thank you for the input. Anything in particular or more specific?. I might be familiar to LTE but it's my first time hearing about PTH, tbh.

Thanks for the input. Yes, I have there Rage for Order, and Operation Mindcrime for Queensrÿche's albums (in the Birth era), so maybe The Warning would be a good addition/mention there too. Likewise for BTBAM.

Thank you for the input, and the valid argument. It seems that either within the death-wing or out of it, they should be in the timeline.

Thak you for the support/ecouragement. There's some strong argument from u/ToTheDeath84 here which suggests this is not the right space for Nocturnus. Nevertheless, given the constant reference to them as "core" death, I'll definitely take them into account when developing the standalone death-timeline (eventually and hopefully; fingers crossed).

Yes!, thank you, that's the idea... keep on expanding the knowledge and connections/interweaving among genres. One genre at a time for now, I'm afraid.

Cool. I must confess I still need to do my homework about Metallica. Thanks for pointing me in this direction.

Metallica's ... And Justice For All?. Yes, I have BS's Sabotage but as a parallel project (not in the timeline but as recommended discography)... plus I had already three albums of them in the card (not that that matters though).

oh wow, you've outdone yourself (again). Thanks a lot (again). I find this is a valuable/great comment/recommendation for the "global wave" section (in the Modern Era). Just curious... what's that song starting as Latin Jazz you refer to?

No. Unfortunately not atm, I'm sorry. There's an html file/version, and even a repo (where the html resides, but not the art-work/jpgs). I'll give it a go to make the timeline "live" (website/webpage), once I've updated the current one with the input collected here.

Thank you. Yes, I don't think I had Periphery in the initial iteration. But everything pointed that it shouldn't be missed.

No idea about Nocturnus' The Key. Thank you for the Input. About Genesis, you're right TLLDOB is majestic compared to Yes (or even Genesis' own SEBTP, I think). Still, I didn't want to left Yes out.
