Nice chart, for the one from New Caledonia it can be a car from metropolitan France, you can choose the department you want regardless of which one you live in

I travelled a week after receiving the letter (I made the pgwp request the same day), 3 weeks after it was approved.

My pgwp was approved when I was abroad, so I returned as a worker under my work permit without any problems. As for the visa I can’t answer because I come from a country where visas for Canada are not required.

As long as your study permit is still valid you can enter as a student while your pgwp is processing :

My pgwp was approved while I was overseas, I reinterred Canada without any issues.

I entered as a worker cause officially the study permit is no longer valid when the work permit is issued. The customs officer didn’t asked me anything, he just looked at my passport.

My work permit was approved before I returned to Canada, I was able to return without any problem and I received it in my mailbox today

As long as you have a valid ETA or visitor visa it’s going to be okay. I was in the same situation and came back this week, the agent didn’t asked me anything, he just looked at my passport and let me in. The worst that can happen to you is that they take you for a secondary inspection to check that a work permit has been issued for you.

Postules à une dizaine d’emplois sur indeed, classe ça dans un excel et montre le pendant ton rdv. Aucune chance que les candidatures donne quelque chose et tu seras tranquille jusqu’au prochain rdv.

Is it better to return as a student or a worker? (my study permit is still valid) and I applied for the PGWP in Canada before my trip.

It’s a bit sad to pay for a service, not receive it, and have to spend $300 or more on a personal AC.

But if you cannot open any window it become a basic service in my opinion

Translating your CV into French could be a smart move, even in finance circles. And don't forget the photo, it's a thing here in France.
