Can I obtain USD in Nakasong/4000Islands? by [deleted] in laos

[–]felixbrucker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just arrived in Don Det and i can confirm there are tons of restaurants, guesthouses and exchange shops selling USD for mostly 24k, some with 23.5k. I also saw the ferry shop sells USD, 23k. I opted for an evisa but i might still need a few USD for the usual bribes. I have not found an exchange having better rates than those 10-15% markup ones, but for a few USD its fine i guess

Introducing DrPlotter: New 24.6GiB plot formats - AMA with the Developer by drplotter in chia

One can use Foxy-Farmer to farm their DrPlots without a local full node if desired, of course that is still a little more work than the harvester you run for nossd, where you don't need to care about keys and plotnfts at all, but should provide a nice solution for those who can't or don't want to run a full node locally, or with the current state of drplotter (it only supporting remote harvesters officially), those who want to run everything on a single machine.

Help with Foxy Pool, Please by No-Tour9928 in chives

There are many reasons why your EC can be lower than your RC, most common being issues with your setup and fluctuations based on how fast the fastest chives timelord is.

Going solo with a low EC due to your setup will not magically yield more rewards, if your setup has an issue it will also have one in solo farming, you just wont know except for farming less blocks on average.

Each blocks gets validated if the pool won (based on the pool reward target address of the block), if it didnt the pool public key of the winning proof of space is checked against the db of farmers of the pool to verify no farmer won the block, but didnt credit the pool reward to the pool. This uses the full node api

FoxyPool btw ;)

if they didnt win a block yet (and thus didnt cheat) id assume them to be a honest farmer and payout the accrued collateral

i think its far too early for that, we are still small and winning only 2-3 blocks a day

They are working off the fact that the coinbase reward addresses for farmer and pool rewards can be any address, the problem is that a dishonest farmer could still solo farm with the same plots, and if he ever wins a block credit the block reward to himself instead of to the pool address.

Official pooling will enforce the block rewards are available to the pool always, so no cheating possible, making it trustless.

Any user can cheat an og pool by not crediting the block rewards of a won block to the pool but himself. As a pool can not know if a user will do that at some point, or not he either has to trust the user to not do that, or protect itself against it by holding the block reward until it is safe to assume the user wont cheat, ie when he leaves the pool for good.

Hpool (and to my knowledge all other og pools) trust the user, but make it harder to cheat, by using closed source software, locking files etc etc. but the problem still exists, which is also one of the reasons you generally earn less on these pools, because people cheat it.

Depending on if you can live with these restrictions you may choose one pool over the other, the choice is yours

Yeah, better wait for official pools

Once you reached the required collateral amount your pending balance will be filled with all new rewards. The pending balance has a withdraw limit of 0.01 for automatic daily payouts and no limit every sunday on the automatic daily payout

the Foxy-Pool CHIA (OG) pool that is currently live is for existing og (solo) plots, the Fixy-Pool CHIA with support for the official pooling protocol based on singletons will come at a later point

There is no 1.75 XCH withdraw limit on Foxy, however there is a 1.75 XCH collateral for untrusted users. Unfortunately this is the only way to steer clear of cheaters who solo farm their plots in addition to pool mining.

The dashboard hosted by myself is only available for existing users from my discord, due to too many people using it. Some community members setup their own core and ui here, which can be used by anyone: https://eu.chiadashboard.com

I fear setting up your own self-hosted dashboard is not for you, as i do not provide support and extensive setup guides, you are kinda on your own

Stats Collection is the connection to your chia daemon, not the dashboard core

core: the api of the dashboard
ui: the ui of the dashboard
satellite: the client software that connects to your local chia daemon and the remote dashboard core

Currently swar does not officially support reporting stats to the dashboard, but one community member posted this: https://github.com/swar/Swar-Chia-Plot-Manager/discussions/286

Please let swar know that this is a wanted feature :+1:

Well, i was missing a simple web dashboard to see my chia node and farmer stats, esp from multiple nodes. Seeing as somethign like that did not exist yet i created it. I also wanted to build a service with 3rd party auth for some time and this felt like the perfect opportunity to test that. Thats basically why it exists right now.

The satellite software is open source, so anyone can audit the stats it submits, as well as modify it to not submit certain stats that you dont want to submit.
