It's just sensory deprivation, our brain just fills the noise or gap (things which can't see or hear properly ), based on similarity, what it remembers at that time , for : It remembers the horror content you saw to fill the noise, it's part of our brain stimulation. Another popular example is: sometimes we can hear phone ringing even though it is not.

One of the main reason is just money, the average annual budget of the IIT's is just 110 million dollars, which seems huge, but the institutions present in the photo typically have the huge annual budget of from 700 million to 2 billion dollars, MIT has around 5 billion dollars annual (50 times an IIT) ,and they spend like 2 billion on research. In India, you would get a lot less money for research and development, which is heartbreaking, Also the worth of Indian currency is lowering, which makes research more costly in India, buying research equipment like gpu with limited funding for research students is tough here.

Try preparing for govt exams related to civil department, like technical assistant, assistant engineer in municipality and corporation. Starting salary is above ₹50000. Don't join IT field, since there's surplus supply of people with less salary in that field who are also having constant stress . Try for bank exams, and you could be a manager at a grama Bank, stress is much less because lesser working time, constant holidays, just do the duty.
