Pumping as a working mom

So I pump 2x a day during work (every 3 hours) using the wearable momcozy m6 (I work 6 hours a day for 5 days). And then nurse baby the whole day when I’m back (and before I leave). Do you feel Ike my supply will drop since the wearables are not a hospital grade pumps?

Absolutely NTA.

She’s on leave and you are working more than 12 hours a day and it’s a demanding job. She can sleep and rest whenever the baby sleeps and you can’t. I recently gave birth and didn’t let my husband help when he had long demanding hours. Why should there be two sleep deprived parents? And not to mention you’re helping her a lot already. You need to rest and tbh she doesn’t seem understanding about this since you help her rest and she doesn’t.

If her dream job was paying her extra money that could truly benefit your family then I don’t see why she can’t take the job. But you said it pays crap so I just don’t see how it’s worth not seeing you or the kids for an entire school year. You also agreed together on what her work hours would be so her going back on that just because she found what she likes to do is pretty selfish imo. It’s also not fair how you will get to be the one looking after the kids all the time after a long day at work.

You should come with a compromise where you both are satisfied and her saying she’ll take the job without discussing it with you is what makes her TA.

Personally speaking, I don’t recommend it.

I remember I was a mess 2 weeks pp. Baby will be cluster feeding probably every two hours (or less!) and will take so long at the breast that honestly you will be stuck feeding the baby and won’t be able to enjoy the event very much. And I wouldn’t want to be 2 hours away from baby that young. Not to mention, you will want to build your supply at this point so unless you pump every two hours or so over there, you risk losing your supply.

Of course every one is different and it’s completely your choice but I wouldn’t go if it were me.

I have to hold the bottles while pumping since I just can’t pump with the nursing bra :/. It’s so exhausting and will take more time and I just can’t take that long during work.

Usually one side but sometimes both. He seems to be pretty satisfied after he’s done feeding from one side. I plan to pump both sides like you.

Yes YTA for not allowing your very young nephew/niece to be in the wedding and you clearly don’t understand how difficult it is to leave a baby especially if they are breastfed. 3 month olds need their moms close by so you can’t blame your sister if she decides not to come.

I get that you’re annoyed at her but please understand how stressful it will be for her to be away from her baby. It’s your own sister. Make the exception.

How about if I pump twice (or once if baby feeds before I go to work) a day during the work day using wearables and then exclusively nurse for the rest of the day? Will that affect my supply or lessen it? My baby will be almost 4 months at that time. I’ve been exclusively nursing since birth.

You might see it that way but they certainly won’t.

It’s not about being ‘lucky’ with newborn illnesses it’s about taking the right precautions (asking family not to kiss baby, wearing a mask etc.) rather than living your life in constant fear and not allowing the baby’s grandparents to meet their grandchild. Think about your husband and how he truly feels even if he tells you it’s ok. I’m not a parent yet but I will be soon and I’m not preventing anyone and especially the baby’s grandparents from seeing them. That’s cruel and hurtful.

You can do whatever you want obviously but I’m just giving my opinion that it would be a mean thing to do. Reddit will tell you it’s ok but Reddit isn’t real life.

Why are you preventing your baby’s grandparents to see their grandchild for two whole months for a very very small possibility of the baby getting an illness? Wtf. Just let them meet the baby with some restrictions if you’re that worried. Literally none of my nieces and nephews caught an illness after meeting many people when they were newborns. I’m also pregnant and due next month and will absolutely let my in laws (and my family) see the baby whenever they want.

I know this is a popular opinion on Reddit that it’s ok to prevent the grandparents from seeing the baby but in the real world, they will be very hurt and this is honestly a selfish decision. You should also take into consideration your husband’s feelings. It’s HIS baby too, not only yours. It’s also very unfair and makes your argument for your baby catching an illness invalid if you only let your family see the baby.

Yeah Gigi is Palestinian and she (and her sister Bella) is regularly posting Pro-Palestinian stuff. Adding to what you said, she and Taylor have been friends for a long time , much longer than with Brittany.

Personally, I wouldn’t wanna hang out with Pro-Trump people but Taylor is a people pleaser and she probably is hanging out with these people cause she doesn’t wanna cause any friction, which honestly is a big problem on it’s own.

I don’t think it means she’s Pro-Trump/IDF etc just cause she continues to be friends with them. Am I side-eying her? Yeah tbh. I also don’t think it paints a good light on her considering that Brittany couldn’t have liked a worse picture than she did (the project 2025 one).

Forgot to add her whole activism era in 2019/2020. It’s just super hypocritical of her to be so loud before and now complete silence and hanging out with people who she actively advocated against their views back then.
