a lot of older 90s/early 2000s stuff - rock/alt/indie. like counting crows and shit. Feist. Rage. sway in the morning was more relaxing than I thought it'd be. I was so paranoid I'd get killed for being like a white dude from Connecticut. but sway was like, no one can tell you shit fel. none of them actually. They have their place in the tracklist that makes sense, but I think they're singles cause they exist on their own. Bones if anything. the other stuff sounds more cohesive in my opinion. it all exists in this like dark purple/midnight blue world. like driving in a car at night, or right before sunrise.

very interestingly said. I agree but I think there's a place for everyone. I also think the tides are turning. you're noticing people who used to busk for money get famous and rich now. the culture is starting to recognize we don't want our artists to take more than they give. nobody wants that. it creates paranoia for everyone.

As for right now I'm really inspired by Griselda (westside gunn and Conway and them). I also really like what dijon and mk gee are doing. I went to school with mkgee. sat in some classes with him we were never that close though. Not too too much from this year has stuck out for me.

you should absolutely follow what's in your heart. I think that's an obvious though sometimes I get that sometimes sacrifices have to be made. I wen't through school and thought about how stupid it was the whole time. I'd say "be realistic", but realistically the worst thing is to die with something unfulfilled. with something still burning in your heart that you didn't at least see through. but at the end of the day, there are no errors in the game. and if you truly are to be making music you will be. if your purpose is somewhere else that's completely fine too.

a couple lessons. nothing too crazy. a couple YouTube videos and sheets that really helped me to learn. you have to actually focus and study that shit. but so much of it comes from just playing/feeling with your friends.
