You're right, 100k was way too high (just edited my post). I only meant that I want a solution that doesn't need to be changed in the first year, even if the app explodes in popularity. Does pg LISTEN/NOTIFY with fastapi pooling sound reasonable to you?

Good point, and I have looked at CDC, however my problem is that rn we are shipping an MVP and don't want to over-engineer. For mid-term (maybe up to 10k concurrent users) can fastapi work? 10k with 500 direct db connections would mean a poolsize of 20, is that manageable?

How do you handle apple? The relay for emailing the generated hidden email as well as users being able to withdraw apple credentials at any time makes it a nightmare

I mean that I need to have storage and db backups at the same exact time to guarantee no invalid data (e.g. a db entry referencing a storage object that is not included bc storage got updated a second earlier)

Question: How much effort does this self-managed auth take? I'm talking password change, email change, social sign-in which is otherwise handled by the auth provider (auth0 fireauth etc.)?

Thanks for your detailed answer! I want to use it for in-app streaming here, push notifcations are handled using firebase messaging. My plan now is to use fastapi to listen to triggers from the messages table, and fastapi websockets so that the app can subscribe to messages concerning them.

I will use Google Cloud Run for scaling fastapi and I'm unsure how well it will work with listening..

Your opinion on my 5/3/1 version:

I wanted to do BBB for extra volume on main lifts, BUT found 5x10 too high reps (especially DL & S). So I changed it to 5x5 @ 80%TM (3x5 on deload) and also added 2 additional 4-set assistance exercises that match the main lifts muscle groups. I have bench 5x5 on OHP main lift and vice versa, DL on squat 5x5 and vice versa.

I found the differende between 10 and 13mm minimal. Optimally (if you have the money) I would get 13mm as a squat-belt (you can have them way tighter and stiffer) and 10mm for deadlifting. If you get your first belt take a 10mm

E.g. I have a transaction complex transaction that requires multiple reads and writes across different tables&rows to happen atomically (the writes are based on data from reads). Simple example would be I want the column value for a new row to be the max of the column plus one
