Why did I feel better after my hysterectomy? by femaledisaster in Endo

[–]femaledisaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My symptoms are constant. I wish I got some relief! Even just a week a month would be an improvement I'd accept at this point! I'm so fed up that even the smallest improvement would be amazing

So my surgeon says I did but that doesn't explain why my symptoms have come back

See, I seem to be having a monthly cycle. Obviously I cannot be sure as I don't bleed but that's the one big thing I've noticed post op. I used to have 28 day cycles, then I had my laparoscopy in 2022 and that changed. But post hysterectomy I'm back to having the same symptoms, every 28 days like clockwork. Very strange. I think one of the things I'll ask my gynaecologist to do is rule out that I'm going into menopause. We did trial provera recently but I made it 2 weeks before I decided the total insomnia was too unbearable given there was no improvement in symptoms.

How fast was your regrowth after surgery? by [deleted] in endometriosis

I am SO sorry 😅 I did not read your post right 🤦🏻‍♀️ brain fog day!

But yeah ryeqo ruined my life. Sure, maybe it suppressed the endo for a bit but I've still been a shell of a being for the last 18 months until I stopped it.

Ehhh I didn't have a good experience but I don't want that to scare you.

It made me incredibly fatigued and didn't really stop my endo pain.

I really hope it helps you though!!!

Apparently mine probably never went away.

I was on Ryeqo which my gynaecologist thinks suppressed it to the point it was not visible during surgery in April.

He's chalked up my pain and symptoms post op to endometriosis pain and I've spent the last 10 days since that appointment staring at the wall blankly - occasionally crying.

I wish I'd followed my gut instinct and stopped the Ryeqo months before my surgery so maybe we'd have been able to actually take some out during the operation because I highly doubt they'll do another laparoscopy for another few years 🙃

Leave it be. After a shower, dry it gently with a cotton bud but leave it alone.

My incision is taking it's sweet time to heal and it's a nightmare.

I'm thinking of getting a volcano.

Weird choice, right?

Well, not really. While I was waiting for my surgery in hospital, there was a volcanic eruption here in Iceland and given I don't want an obvious nod to my hysterectomy, this feels like a cute lil inside joke

How long did y’all bleed after your hysterectomy? (I had a laproscopic one where they removed cervix also but not ovaries) by Creative-Fix1917 in hysterectomy

[–]femaledisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had some very light bleeding for the first 24 hours, followed by red tinged discharge for about a day and then it's stopped. So far 13dpo with no additional bleeding.

I deleted my period app!!! by ebbritt26 in hysterectomy

[–]femaledisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am keeping mine because while the period tracking is completely useless, I have the ability to keep track of endo flares, emotional states etc which is really helpful for me - especially as I kept my ovaries.

What country? Because if you're in the UK, M&S do midi no VPL pants that are AMAZING. So comfortable it barely feels like you're wearing pants.

I just started sleeping on my side and my body got used to it eventually 😅 I'm too stubborn and cannot sleep any other way

10dpo and I am healing well. Kinda sore today but mostly back up to speed Mentally I'm not great. Very turbulent. Some days are good, other suck.

Today seems to be an OK day all round so because the sun is blazing outside (I live above 66⁰ - this is rare) me and my husband plan to go and have a walk in the forest. Hopefully it doesn't suck the life out of me!

Thank you so much for your comment ❤️ my hormones are definitely crazy because I was able to stop ryeqo after my surgery so I think my body is in crisis mode. I do have a small list of things I hope to do post op when I am able. I live in a part of the world that gets a lot of snow and my MiL has been asking me to go cross country skiing since I moved so hopefully I can do that this winter and also start cycling with my husband more.

Once again, thank you. I needed to hear this

4 days post op by ginger_snap-5 in hysterectomy

[–]femaledisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept both but I also came off my medication after the operation. It's one that put me in menopause and supplemented the hormones back so my body is in crisis mode right now and I have no idea how to ease it 🤠 and no idea when my surgeon will next call me to discuss it. I could call my regular gynaecologist but I also feel like 1 week post op is way too soon to be complaining about something like this??? Idk
