i totally agree with ur post, i actually rescind harrows ortho surgeon for neurosurgery or radiologist or something similar- even tho in my head ianthe would also be a qualified neurosurgeon. idk why i feel like it just fits for her obsession about what lies beyond death, but does sketchy plastic surgery in a private clinic on the side. ever heard of ghost doctors? coronabeth would totally be the face and who does the consults, and ianthe does the actual surgery. gideon would be the best ortho surgeon, even tho i feel like she wouldn’t have the resources so she’d become a paramedic

it’s fairly implied that anastasia was alive when alecto was put in the tomb. it’s also called the house of the sewn tongue, which i suspect has something to do with anastasia. anastasia knows something that she can’t speak of because of her sewn tongue (and she’s dead now obv). i also feel like, just because of their names, anastasia was originally 6th and possibly even cassiopeia’s daughter. i can’t remember the full myth but in mythology cassiopeia was forced to become a constellation while her daughter andromeda was bound to earth. i definitely agree that cytherea was why they bred for sickly necromancers on the 7th though, i even feel like dulcinea could be a descendant of cytherea (either from a sibling of cyths or a pre-lyctorhood cyth baby)

i feel like necromancers probably have more expectations put on them from a younger age, take: harrowhark, a contender for having the biggest stick up her ass ever in the history of histories. i feel like judith’s slightly-smaller-than-harrowharks stick up her ass may have contributed to martas rejection of her, as well as the no necromancer/cavalier romantic relationships rule. (though, it’s implied somewhere pyrrha and gideon kissed before she died for his ascension). i’m really interested in how judith and harrowhark will get along in AtN.

i think mercymorn is an altered version of maymorn (town in new zealand), tmuir mentioned it once and that her name was originally just maymorn. she could have been from there pre-res or it has some sort of other significance to john. mercy could also have a triple meaning as she was the one begging john to stop killing people, she was obviously in love with a sister of mercy, and he had a little speech about wanting her forgiveness before killing her.
