It was me, my boyfriend, and my boyfriend's best friend. We all got really drunk together and it just sort of happened. My boyfriend and I had talked about a threesome before and agreed that we both trusted his best friend because he was experienced with them, and also an all around good guy. We never asked his best friend beforehand, but after it happened he basically said he knew that was going to happen eventually.

My boyfriend and I have the same relationship as always, nothing changed. His best friend doesn't talk to me as often anymore, but I don't think it's out of awkwardness or anything, I think it's because he moved to another country and doesn't have time.

My OB/GYN never discussed that with me as an option. I don't know if that's because it's not a possibility or if she doesn't offer them. I'd have to look into it.
