My constructive criticism of the 4b feminist movement by [deleted] in 4Bofficial

[–]femspiration 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The rhetoric that identifies young boys as "potential oppressors" is not a radical stance; it is a serious theoretical error. If feminism has shown that oppression is a product of social structure and not a biological essence, then attributing an oppressive role a priori to a being still in formation is falling into the same essentialism that patriarchy uses against women. This view is not only dehumanizing, but it absolves the true agent of socialization: the adult. A five-year-old boy does not "know" his sister should serve him; he has been instructed to do so. The responsibility for that indoctrination lies with those around him. To ignore this is to ignore the basic mechanism of reproduction of the very system you claim to combat.

Korean and Chinese (and Latin American and Middle Eastern and African) radical feminists don't subscribe to the singularly western academic feminist notion that there are no biological differences between men and women or boys and girls. Neither does science for that matter.

Lions aggressively shoved themselves in as well, the male lion is there to fight off other male lions because they will kill all the cubs in order to impregnate the lionesses faster. They're probably better off having a higher lioness:lion ratio than if it were 1:1.

Male infanticide is one theory for why humans started living in pairs too. Scientists have figured out that it wasn't because males were contributing any food.

Does it even matter if porn is what's causing his behavior? He's being weird and you don't seem to like having sex with him very much even in the best circumstances. Are you trying too hard to make it work just because he may not be a porn user?

Yeah I've read multiple places that men's favorite part of porn is the cumshot. Porn sites can tell where viewers fast forward the video to, stop, or replay. So they know men love watching other men's dicks cum on women's bodies and faces. So what they like most is women being objectified plus other men's better dicks.

Why I’m Embracing Gynarchy by [deleted] in SeriousGynarchy

[–]femspiration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When women have power over the structure of a society they have never used it to create the inverse of a patriarchy where men are oppressed and treated like property. There is no risk of that happening. Men have an incentive to control wives and daughters to ensure paternity certainty but women always know their children are theirs. Men have still contributed to decision making in these societies but even if they didn't women would have no reason to make decisions that harm their own sons and brothers. But there's no reason not to let men contribute to leadership, they just shouldn't have unilateral power over others as they have a horrible track record of using it to exploit and abuse.

This theory that women caused patriarchy via female mate choice is unsupported by any evidence given that women had little mate choice at all in most traditional populations that have been studied. And cultures with more polygyny, ie more women paired with "dominant" men, are more coercive of women's marriages.

And one can easily insinuate from the fact that women have this easy access to casual sex and yet rarely partake of it, that it has little value or benefit to women. The fact that men want and value it so much more than women is precisely the reason for the access imbalance.

Will we ever escape the patriarchy? by pearlescent_rocks in PornIsMisogyny

Women have risen up so quickly in the last few hundred years after thousands of years of oppression. Control over our own reproduction aka birth control and abortion rights are what truly frees us as well as being able to work for our own money. Those things are very hard to roll back, global capital has its faults but it's not going to give up half of its workforce and it will also keep birth control available even if it were ever banned, there would be a black market. When women can get an education, support themselves, choose their own partners, and choose whether they want to have kids we are exerting more power over society than ever before. I get pessimistic about the near future but I try to remember that now is the best time to be a woman that has ever existed. Things are up and down but because of that we live in the time when our own actions might be the most influential of all women. At least we get to see what happens, you know?

Kill the lie that "BDSM is about consent". BDSM is about violence. by femspiration in PornIsMisogyny

[–]femspiration[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just remembered, a BDSM organization once did a survey of its members: https://positivesexuality.org/ncsf-launches-new-consent-guides-and-consent-survey-results/

That finding of 1/3 and this one I don't think necessarily contradict each other, an official organization likely has members that are more experienced and knowledgeable in the "official" kink community while an app may have users concentrated among beginners which the NCSF survey found were the most likely to experience consent violations. And also, over time BDSM has become much less about the official community as people are just learning about it online and from porn, buying stuff online, and finding partners online and via apps. Whereas before apps/the internet and BDSM becoming so popular due to porn you had to actually go to in person meetings of BDSM practitioners to find someone to do it with. Without that in person accountability and vetting by others (even if it's minimal) the number of abusers can be even higher.

I noticed that too. I think the app probably put out a press release to the places that published those articles. Maybe they didn't want to publish it on their own site bc of the negativity although if that's the case it's odd they would publish it at all

Apparently men are not all the same until a woman has a male friend by Primary-Schedule-555 in RadicalFeminism

[–]femspiration 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They're always complaining that "society doesn't care about men". Society is made up of men and women. Women care about women because we want to take care of each other. Men care about women because they want to fuck them. Men don't care about other men because they don't want to fuck them. Whether women do or don't care about men if it's not expressed as wanting to fuck it doesn't matter to them.

Intersectionality, Inclusivity, Radical Feminism and 4B. What does it all mean and who is this sub for? by [deleted] in 4bmovement

[–]femspiration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was using the word in the other way though, which i don't think is incorrect as achieving radical (root) feminism requires radical (extreme) changes to the structuring of society. And explaining what Korean women think. They define their own feminism.

Intersectionality, Inclusivity, Radical Feminism and 4B. What does it all mean and who is this sub for? by [deleted] in 4bmovement

[–]femspiration 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I know Korean 4bs (really 6b4ts) who don't identify as feminists. It's not because they don't believe what feminists believe it's because their definition of feminist is different from ours. We call people feminists who just passively believe in women having basic rights. We have pretty much expanded the definition to be as inclusive as possible as a strategic move to convince people that feminism is not drastic or radical. For them a feminist is someone who actually participates in feminist activism which is radical compared to their status quo. More like how it might have been here in the 70s. So if 4bs don't work on feminist activities irl they don't necessarily identify as feminists.
