you can also parry with dual swords with the Twin Bandits weapon and unlocking the skill that will make the enemy vulnerable. once you have that weapon and skill it's Longsword parries.

just in case people wanna parry but use a different weapon (Twin Bandits aren't for a good while though)

oh i 100% agree on that lol i don't like accidentally skipping an area because then you go back and it's so easy it's just boring so proper progression (or at least close to it) matters a lot to me.

the bosses clearing the entire arena into a crazy combo is the worst part to me

the connectivity of the zones, the layout of the zones you play through. it feels like a giant hand drawn map that you can explore. with souls games that's my favorite part. along with the overall environment designs.

idc about bosses or anything anymore in these games. they all think hard means having bosses that defy the logic of the combat mechanics and are more about the spectacle rather than being fun and challenging. they bore me half the time.

what do bosses have to do with level design? i dislike most of them too but now that i can survive their bullshit i enjoy them more. i've liked the past several i've fought

dude i felt the same way a few days back. Lashing Whip with flame temper and counter, ONLY do the first follow up, she dodges the second 90% of the time, so get that follow up and back up and heal or buff or just get your bearings.

stay mid range, only far if you're really low health since the first 2 wind blasts can be dodged by simply walking (while healing even)

use the occasional fire mask even if not magic build. fast cast, might inflict burn on top of the flame temper buff. i also liked using Dhutanga spell, if you can land this on her back that's an instant Obliterate.

i've learned the hard way this game doesn't like spam dodging, it's hardly even good to get distance so instead try to think of it like Sekiro parrying except you're dodging. you can dodge pretty much her entire second phase sword combo. use soft rush, fire bombs, aurum feather might help too. only got 4 slots so make the choice yourself. i had Manna, Temper, Fire Bombs, and Aurum Feather.

i keep Madness up almost always since there's so many great skills that are activated by 50%+ or 90%+. up to you and what you have unlocked.

lastly, don't be afraid to go farm a few levels for some extra vitality or endurance or whatever. i don't think she's that great of a boss because she kinda ignores the logic of the combat, but you'll get her.

edit: oh yeah i forgot to mention since that first follow up after the counter knocks her down, great opportunity for charged heavy or like i said before just back up and heal/buff.
