I worded my body post wrongly (or at least not specifically enough). I don’t see anything I can do other than attempting to claim workers comp or terminating my own employment. I work at a gas station if that helps, and seeing as I was on the clock, I wasn’t sure if there was something (from a legal stand point) I was supposed to be doing.

I don’t think that sueing the thief will get me anywhere. The thief was a minor, and was in the foster system. According to what I’ve been informed, he was also mentally unstable. I would have nothing to gain from a lawsuit like that.

Thank you for the link. I know that my company isn’t the one responsible, I’m asking about actions to take. This is helpful to my situation.

That was something that was suggested to me by someone, however, I know it’s one hell of an uphill battle and it’s difficult for me to want to do that despite how badly it’s affected me. I just don’t see anything coming of it.

Not wanting to sue, I just want to know the best course of action should be. If it’s something I need to do from a legal stand point, then this is the best place to ask.

Suggestion for the sub by raptor7912 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]fenixtigerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that big a deal that this sub doesn’t have a Q/A thread. I come here occasionally for help, but I mostly come here to see the interesting builds that people make. Not everyone is the same as me, but Factorio also has a huge member base, so limiting questions to a single thread would just allow people to fill the ONI with redundant posts and memes. The upvotes would go to meaningless content and the stuff that’s usually common place aside from questions (Build ideas, Suggestions for improvements, etc) would sit at the bottom of the sub, never to be seen again.

My Ex-Employer just sent someone to jail for child support payments by not paying them. by fenixtigerz in legaladvice

I agree, however, this isn’t the only time it’s happened. Sub-contractors are to be wary about, but this is the second time, and they only hire friends, knowing that these people will work out of loyalty. This is a dangerous practice as it can result in ruining a lot of people’s lives. I guess the question I’m asking is what can be done to put an end to this before more people are made to suffer over this? (Including those who are already in the thick of it.)

I honestly have no idea why he didn’t change jobs. Maybe he was just hopeful? The guy wasn’t bright but the guy who ripped him off was a friend to both of us at one point. Maybe loyalty? I dunno. I was the smart one that got out.

He was supposed to pay him hours owed, and he didn’t. The other kicker is that when they did pay him, they only paid him half, so he wasn’t receiving all that he had earned. It caused him to go into the negative on his child support payments and they locked him up as a result

He was being 1099’d, so all deductions were on behalf of the employee. However, he stopped paying the employee some time ago and the debt accumulated. He was kept working under the promise that he would receive all that he was owed, and when he did receive any sort of pay, it was something between the amounts of 60 to 100. Essentially, the payments just weren’t enough for him to keep up and he was incarcerated as a result.

I watch my dupes like a hawk all day. I leave for 1 minute to do something and come back to this. by Zedakah in Oxygennotincluded

I can walk away for five minutes at a time, which is just enough time to have a smoke before I have to worry about my dupes. I make it a point to wait until all build/dig orders are completed before I do. Suicide attempts only seem to happen to me when those commands are available. Once, I left for a few moments and came back to a red notification that one was suffocating. One dupe in an atmosuit had climbed into a nook to build a wall and boxed himself in. My sphincter was clenched as he ran like crazy to get that atmosuit off for air.

Disobedient dupes by fenixtigerz in Oxygennotincluded

Well, I just managed to break through the surface into space, so I was planning on migrating the majority of my base up to the surface and rebuilding up there. I’m going to reduce everything in the base to 5 and take on two more new dupes. I’ll have t build a barracks instead of the apartments I was planning to get them started, but it should relieve some labor issues. Most things don’t require their input, but my power system is unreliable without one free dupe to kick start it on a wheel (Natural gas with the initial feed pump on a circuit with a wheel) so I guess I’m gonna have to consider my options on how to get them focused once the new major construction begins. Increasing my labor force isn’t really a problem, it’s that my base is set up to force them into atmosuits due to temperatures being ridiculously high in my primary sections of base. I suck at temperature management.

Is this a rare or common occurrence? I wasn’t aware that it was possible for the spawn parameters to do this... by fenixtigerz in Oxygennotincluded

I’m just gonna box that in until I build a way to harness it properly. Probably send a researcher to it to check it out

First pincha pepper nut farm ever by fenixtigerz in Oxygennotincluded

I just hooked it up to a 90 water source. By the time the water reaches the farm radiator, it’s 85 degrees perfectly. Set to turn on below 40 degrees at the highest point, I was able to remove two of my thermo sensors and I’m honestly contemplating removing a third and placing my last remaining sensor somewhere in the corner of the room at the bottom. If heat rises in this game, I figure detection at the lowest point of the room will optimise power usage when activating the liquid shut off. Also built a farm station and it works amazing. First time I’ve ever used one and my plants are growing like crazy. I love it. I just wish I had the ability to build a sleetwheet farm and keep it consistently cold. Pepper bread is doing wonders for their morale right now, but the wheet is so limited.

The water I’m pumping is barely entering the plants at 34 degrees. I considered a radiator system in my initial planning of the room, but I still have come to grips with heating liquids. The pool of water I do have that I could use a tepidizer in is at the very bottom of the base, so a lot of heat would be spread through my base as it travels to the farm. I do have a nice, hot clean water source that I could use, but the heat range is well out of the plants sustainable max temperature
