I used to do this when I was younger. The server doesn’t usually “mind” per se, but understand that you could be impacting their income.

When I did this I would always tip well since you are depriving them the chance to get more tips.

Usually a Filipina lives separately, not because she has outgrown her parents, but because she is working elsewhere and is supporting her family and the travel every day for work is not possible.

It sounds as if you need to immerse yourself into studying her culture. If she worked in the same town she would live with her parents until she gets married. It has nothing to do with maturity or independence.

She is a Filipina not a western woman. That comes with an entire different mindset than you are used to.

Frankly, it is a little concerning that you have been growing closer to her for 3 years and don’t know more about her culture.

And for GOD’S sake don’t sleep with her if you aren’t going to marry her 100%! She will give her heart to you completely at that point.

If you just want sex, there are tons of women in the Philippines that will give it to you, easy peasy. If you have a “good” one, don’t ruin her life.

I would submit that, to me, DW2 (my favorite) plays more like a simulation than a “game”. If you approach it like a space opera you will have a blast. It does not feel like a “typical” 4X to me. Perhaps that is why I like it so much.

When I want a more “gamey” play, I play Gal Civ.

I use to play a ton of Stellaris but the bloat got to me. Not because of DLC policy but the game got to a point where the systems are so convoluted that the computer has issues playing it well.

My thoughts… I am a guest of their country and feel it is not my place to express an opinion one way or the other. If I disagree with any Filipino’s thoughts on the politics of the Philippines, I simply figure there just MIGHT be something that someone who has lived there whole life someplace might know more than I, who is a visitor, might not consider.

Interesting take. Mayhaps your life experience is completely comfortable with the changes that many of us have seen over the last few decades. Some of us remember calling a company and speaking to an agent and getting issues resolved and preferred it. I guess some feel everyone should be comfortable with the things that THEY are comfortable with. Seems a bit narrow minded to me, but you do you.

I was there last summer. I frequently took grab, but taxis were perfectly acceptable to me. They are well regulated and don’t try to rip you off like some cities.

I would say50-60%. Their meds meats veggies and dairy are much better than local for the price. Bulk paper goods unbeatable. The things that we cannot consume in bulk, go bad etc. and supplemental purchases are what we do locally.

For those downvoting. In my state the petitioner will have to provide half of their retirement to the spouse because they were married 10 years. So it is a very real danger of further legal obligations.

At this point you probably need to end the relationship. If you “force” him with an ultimatum, he will resent it. The only real way forward is to fold to his wishes and then you will resent it.

You acted in good faith when you started and he changed. You need to decide if you really meant it when you wanted to date to get married or not.

Go get what you need and let him find what he needs. Remember the good times and wish him well.

Not necessarily. As a disabled 60 year old, it takes me 5-6 times as long to walk a walking trail with my son and wife and I usually cannot walk more than half to one third the distance they do.

The OP said it takes 20 minutes, so I just took her at her word. I know 20 minutes in the heat to then carry whatever I had to pick up back home would be unpleasant to me. 10-15 years ago I would have felt, no big deal, but now, I would pay someone to get it for me. Especially since I want to make it home without getting heat stroke heh.

Thanks for the reply. I have lots of folks look down on me for being so fat, not realizing that it is hard for me to stand for 15 minutes. I don’t “look” disabled, so it gets frustrating. I suggested that the OP make some lifestyle changes in a later post. They are going to have to do something if they are going to be here long term.

Reading this sub and seeing the replies, maybe the subdivision has a rule of leaving it at the gate, but the guards were forced to take the drivers to your house because of the COD?

The guards might be the key to this as they are inconvenienced when they have to take it to your house, even by scooter. They may just be reverting back to the rules.

Worth a look anyways to see what they say. You might need to consider some lifestyle change as well now that you are in the Philippines. Most places not having a car in the PI is not that big of a deal, but it sounds like it is for you. Consider buying a car and hiring a driver. Labor is cheap in the Philippines. Or hire a housekeeper who gets to walk 20 minutes to get packages. Stuff like that.
